Don't understand the interest in Suckling

Has a history of being able to string together a handful of decent scores but ultimately always ends up averaging in the 80's over a season

I think the fact he's in a team now where he's not fringe anymore makes it a bit different this year. His role is locked in, and Beveridge is a big fan

Played 20+ games each year the last 4 years with Hawthorn. That's hardly fringe

No doubt he has the ability to score well. Just be prepared for the low scores and 80-90 average

You're in the race for overall aren't you? I'd be aiming higher for sure

Yeah, reading my own comments, Selwood and Boyd looks stronger than Suckling and Neale anyways...

Just trying to find the right balance of value/points at the moment! Selwood post-byes has history of going big too

Getting Boyd instead should give me close to top 6 defenders at the moment as well (Shaw, Doc, Simmo, Gibson, Bartel, Boyd), so I think that will be my aim. Just means getting him in rd 15 instead and Selly this week.

Thanks for the face-slap RD  ;D

Where's the love for Jasper Pittard!

Just pumping myself up to trade him in this week 8)

Few surprising results here. Who would've said at the start of the year Docherty is clear number one defender and Enright/Burgoyne are the 4th and 5th best defenders on total points. Laird doesn't feature at all due to his injuries mid year and Rance was owned by a quarter of all teams yet is only the 9th best defender. TMac's huge second half of the year clawed himself into 8th.
Meanwhile, one could argue JJ would be up there had he not missed a lot of this year. Howe could be one to look at as his scores without Marley Williams are very good. Pittard & Williams are others to look at for the future also. The old brigade (Simmo, Heater, Boyd, Enright, Burgoyne) however just get it done. Kudos if you got close to the top 10.

I had 4 of the top 10 defenders (Shaw, Boyd, Simpson and Rance)

Laird and McVeigh were the other 2 premos I had.

Not having Doc hurt a bit but apart from that I was reasonably happy with my backline in the end.
