With the launch of AFL Fantasy today, and the start of a long season ahead, i thought i'd post my starting team for the year.

It'd be really good if you guys could let me know how my team is looking at this early point!! any feedback would be appreciated.

DEF: McVeigh, Bartel, Kolodjashnij, Yeo, Smith, Brown (Rice, Hartley)

MID: Rockliff, Sidebottom, Liberatore, B. Crouch, Petracca, Oliver, Mills, Keays (Jansen, Menegola)

RUCK: S. Martin, Leuenberger (Currie, Naismith)

FWD: Martin, Deledio, Bennell, Greene, Bird, Anderson (Sumner, Kommer)

Looks nice balanced. Good to see someone giving Sidey a chance. I'd be inclined to shift some money from the backs to the mids, I can see why you've done what you've done but it leaves you with so much work to get a complete midfield.

Nice team to start! Really like the forwards and fm ruck set up is nice! I think there's too much spent in the backs, there a few rookies popping up down there so I reckon Smith could definitely become a rookie and then even one of your others too, or even change one to Aish for a cheaper option, then I think at least one of your kid roomies should become a premium because that's looking a bit light

Ripper advice lads, much appreciated.

Would love to hear your thoughts on defensive rookies at this stage. Mitch Hibberd, Marcus Adams, Ryan Harwood and of course Mitch Brown seem to be the ones talked up at this point of time. Do you have any opinions on these players or any others that could be a worthwhile d5/d6?

Pretty much wait and see right now. Looked for some news on Harwood the other day but couldn't find anything, which isn't necessarily bad. Hibberd is probably the least likely of those to play Round 1.

Ask and you will find. Harwood participated fully in the intra club trial last Friday so is in line for consideration for Rd 1. Vying with Lester imo for the position but I would have Harwood in front imo.

In the recent days i have re-structured my team, and mixed it up with some different rookie and premium options. Overall i am pretty happy with my structure right now, however i would love to hear you guys thoughts and let me know what suggestions you may have!

I see a lot of people having morabitto on the bench. He's a rookie listed player at freo and especially with his injury concerns is very unlikely to play any games (first needs to get upgraded). Look for a cheaper rookie who can make you some money.

That's a change, gone from heaps of mid-pricers to rookies and premo's. I like the picks but not my personal choice of filling out a fantasy team as it isn't Rankings Kind to play so many rookies.

Looks good strong side couple of nice PODs in there I can see will Daniel Howe play round 1 and keep his position?

I can see Howe playing round 1 and definitely locking down a spot at half back and possibly even through the middle at stages. Reads the ball really well and tackles hard.

In rounds 22 and 23 last year he was vestless and scored 69 and 98. Then the other two games he played WITH the vest he scored 51 in 22% TOG and 16 in 19% TOG.

I think Hawthorn really like him and with Suckling and Lake gone from the backline, could see early game time at a bargain price for what he can produce!

What's people's thoughts on Zaharakis this year with all there good players out i think he Could be a good pod if he finds some good form he's had a good pre season tossing up between Zaharakis Hunter n Bad crouch for my m6 position
