Crouch beats 10x Polec

Yeah Polec could become Jaeger or Crouch. All those 4 including Libba are great players with the potential to score 85 - 110.

Other than that?

Defence is very light on, first thoughts were to downgrade Shiel to a rookie or someone like Simpkin, and then use that cash to look at someone like Brodie Smith in the backline.

Well that's the whole point of my team! My strategy is light as I can in defence as least points are scored there and lots of back rookies this season I think.

I've always wanted a super premium starting mid-field but I can never get it right without losing in fwds and rucks. This year is different and I've found it easier than ever to make a team /s and u gotta take a little risk. The backline is where I;m taking it - and Wells of course LOL.

84,500 in kitty. If Walker scores 75 - 90 which he will easy from halfback. He is talented and experienced and fit as.. And E Mac scores 65 - 75 that's worth the money for me. Hopefully at least 1 of Libba,Crouch and Polec will average 110+ and become M8/9.

Wells and probably Polec can earn cash and become Pendles and Selwood. Also note I have swing sets everywhere - M/F,M/B,F/B,R/F

The only change I might make is Rioli to a rookie (depending on availability) and get Rich or Hurn or Bartel or Simpson. Depends on back/forward rookies available.

Not sold on Emac only way i can see him scoring if the eagles chip it around in the backline alot

Need to fix that defense, just going to cause you headaches all year if you start with that..

and get rid of Greene and/or Rioli to upgrade you defense and personally Id pick one or the other with Polec and Crouch not both!

What I would do is

Rioli > Simpkin
Grenne > Wells or Kerridge
Polec > Wines, Mitchell, Priddis, JPK, Hanners, Danger
Wells > Hopper, Polkinghorne, Dunkley, Petrecca

then upgrade McVeigh (better options) Emac and on of the rookie defenders to Yeo, Brodie Smith, Shaw, Birchall, Kade Simpson
You don't want to go into round 1 with Hartley as your D4.

IMO your current team is the making for a disaster to many mid priced players.  And players like Wells should be in the forward line not Mids

I love this set up. If Leuy is slow to get going I've got Tippett and swing sets with King and Grimley.

Plus every other DPP too - M/F,M/B,F/B. Not sold on Bennell yet but he is 540 K so I can afford Buddy and change or Wingard/ Dal/Rioli/etc

Nice structure Ubeaut, 

As a Lions supporter a little concerned with Rich.  Hope to be proven wrong for the clubs sake but still has to show he can handle a tag especially while he will be in mids this year.

Mcveigh is in my doubtful category for Rd 1 so keep an eye on that.

If Berger does not come up I would try and find the extra $75k to get Lobbe who i think will score about the same as Berger.

Will you keep Selwood if he does not play Rd 1 as well?

In summary well set up team with flexibility to adjust as needed.

Massive doubts as to whether Rich can handle a tag or not, wouldn't be confident with him as D2. Walker also a massive risk, and prefer Harwood over Emac.

Love the mids, think Shiel is in for a big year.

Not a fan of the Leuey pick at all, can't see him lasting more than 5 games unfortunately :-\

Don't see Tippett scoring great if Buddy gets back to his best (which I think he will)

How many tags are they gonna get? Rocky gets a run with. Then there's Hanley,Beams and Zorko. Surely he can manage 90 if Lions improve as I'm predicting. Merrett back, awesome midfield including the underated Stefan Martin.

As for Tippett - he's cover for Leuy/flexibility. Cover for Buddy too. If Buddy goes down... Also I believe Tippett will get inlolved in the ruck more and get points there too.

Walker is a risk but with the right role scores 80 - 100. Plus he's DPP. Harwood may come in pending his JS.

So yeah I'm risking Walker and Leuy and Tippett. But u gotta take risks.

Other than that is my structure good? I like it! ;)

So the opposition rate him over Beams and Hanley??? I know he's good but... maybe I should just start Beams and/or maybe even Hanley on that logic?

I don't know. I just thought he'd be in more teams for that price as a defender... Who else? I like Hurn but he can't handle a tag well enough either - great disposal but when tagged doesn't get enough of it.

Bartel won't play more than 17 games IMO at most. He is too inconsistent due to his Mr.Fix it role.

Who will outscore Rich at that price? Yeo? Smith? Burgoyne? Birchall? can't see these doing that much better?
