I think RD summed up the Rich situation pretty well. Shaw, Laird, Bartel will do me.

At 440K you're getting exactly what you're paying for

I'd roll the dice if he was under 400k, but he needs to be a keeper at his price and I can't see him being a top 10 def

First thing he's not 440k, if he was I wouldn't be able to afford him (nitpicking I know but every bit counts). Secondly, I think he stands a very good chance to be a top ten defender, like I've mentioned numerous times it will take a couple of extra tackles for him to push into the nineties, he's entering his prime years now and has had a very solid preseason. 22 games and an average of 85 would even be acceptable, let's be honest here, an extra 5 points to the average is 110 points, something Shaw owners may even lose if he misses his regular 3-4 games. Rich is priced at 80, is a good chance to hit 90, but if not he shouldn't dip below 85. He also has DPP which could come in very handy when Hibberd gets some games. As for picking the top 10 defenders, I doubt anyone here would be within cooee of making an accurate assessment. Surely I don't need to remind people of Laird, McDonald, Picken etc.

Means absolutely jack all, Dustin Martin has been named as Richmond's CHF, the team sheet is as useful as dunny paper when working out positions.

Not worried at all. Cutler, Harwood and Beams all on the bench who will play that half back role

Exactly, as well as Lester, Christensen and Taylor along the centre line when they will be mainly in the fwd line with rotating spells through the midfield. Rich will be 100% Midfield on Sunday

I'm rolling the dice. Kind of have to, considering I'm stripped of cash and I don't like many of the rookies unlike many others.

Laird, Bartel, Rich, Weits, Dea, Tippa/Brown.

Agree - I do not expect Brisbane to line up as per the current players sheet.  Would be very surprised if we go in with 4 talls in forward  line especially at Subi. Meaning one of the mids goes to the forwards Rich to midfield and one of Harwood, Cutler or Beams goes to HB.

I've gone a bit cold on Rich and moved him up to Laird!

Ugh don't know what to do..

I'm just warming up on him... Hahaha got both of those players lol

So many mixed thoughts towards Rich, his history is so off putting but have unfortauntly missed out on simpson/rance/docherty so now rich comes into calcualtions.

Anyone still backing him for a 90+

I traded Simmo to Rich late and Simmo went bang with 100+ first up.. Over to you Rich, don't let me down son!

They set up really well down back, a couple of slip ups and a bit of confusion on a couple of occasions as they try and adjust to the new system, but it is allowing Simmo to impact a number of contests. He also had a few costly fumbles late in the game but I think it was more fatigue then anything being the first hit out of the year with the new cap coming in. He and Doc aren't going to have 30 touches a piece every week so that is something else to look at. The Swans game is the one that interests me next week to see if it stands up.

Yeah this is why I'm not too worried just yet. 30 possessions isn't a weekly  thing for him and he only scored 104 from it. He will be in my side at some stage but just hoping it was justified saving the cash to get rich for what I think will be a Similair average. If Rich comes out and scores 50 this week I'll be a little irritated  :-X
