Daniel Rich in DEF

2015 not up to his best but coming off a knee reco most footy players find the first year back the toughest.

From the Lions' website - "Rich reported back to pre-season training ahead of schedule for a handful of sessions with the clubâ€™s young cubs after completing his first triathlon during his break. He chose the biggest of them all â€" the Noosa Triathlon â€" to make his debut in the sport."

Anyone (Ringo?) have any news on how he's preseason been coming along?

Been training with the midfield group, so seems like he'll be playing predominantly in the midfield at this point in time. Unfortunately, that means he's probably more likely to get tagged, and could actually hurt his scoring. I'd much rather see him play off half back. Don't see him averaging much more than 85.

Can confirm what GL has said - Even in the match simulation Rich has been playing midfield. Like GL I prefer him of HB as he will attract a tag.
Preseason wise is he done all the training sessions.
Rich is also off contract this year and so far has been non committal about his intentions and as we have seen some players form tends to suffer with protracted or uncertain contract renewals.

Funny, this time every year Daniel's name seems to loom on the horizon with promises only a Rich man can make. Then he gradually fades from view not to be seem or heard until it's time to pick another team...

I think he's a better prospect playing through the midfield... Has shown he's not a complete outside spud and can play inside. Add that to handball receive count and there's real value. But there's better value!

Funny how when he's in Phantom's team everyone jumps on!

Genuinely considering him. May attract a tag in the midfield (how many teams actually tag anymore), but will score better in there

Rich copped a lot of attention last year due to Rocky & Hanley being sidelined, given he's in defence this year I think he's a good bet to hit 90 again.

Do you see (Daniel) Rich playing more through the middle rather than off half back, a danger inside 80?

Richy has been training in the mids.

Question asked of Leppa at a Q & A session. As was said above increases his chance of being tagged as teams will not want him running loose with that boot accuracy and he has shown h can not handle it. Hanley will get first tag and Rich 2nd.

I know Rich has been tagged in the past. If Hanley, Rockliff, Beams and Rich all line up round one do people still think he will be tagged?

Probably a little too much emphasis on tagging on here atm. Teams play a little different now. What are there, 2-4 decent taggers in the comp these days? I wouldn't give it too much weight when picking players

May not tag but a run with role - Because of the drive Rich and Hanley give they attract the most attention.

Doesn't need to be a hard tag. A player just needs to stand within 2 meters of Rich and he turns to water :(
