Keeper27

Morning to all FF people.
just thought i'd make a quick team.
IMO there's no need for us to overthink our teams until NAB has started, but a basic structure and a few decent players is enough for now.

so here's my squad, advice welcome if you wanna.

not much left in the kitty $6,300, but that can change (dg Parker to crouch - $238,400)

DEF
Simmo aka Mr Reliable is a must for any team has avg 93.2 since 2006.
KK, new blood, i really do think he's on the rise. mid 90's. calling it now.
Bartel, underpriced, we all know what he can do.
Smith. hmmm.. didnt jump on the wagon last year and glad i didnt, but i see a positive year for him.

notes: Yeo, Hurn, broadbent and Macmillan are all on my radar.
(rookies subject to change)

MIDS
Pendles is pendles. solid captain choice.
Gray. will improve. AGAIN.
Sloane. can he step up and be Crows #1 with Danger gone?? i think he can.
Rocky - hmmm... hurt plenty last year, but i think he will get back to what he does best.
Parker. taking a chance. yes, can it pay off GREATLY. i think so.
Libba. love him. enough said.

notes: Crouch and O'meara if i need to dg Parker.
(rookies subject to change)

RUC
Sandi. say what you want about the big fella but he delivers.
NicNat. will improve this year.

FWD
Barlow. underpriced IMO.
Merrett. will improve.
Buddy. hopefully he's finally all sorted out and can get back to 95+

ablett?
+1

Have only started with Gazza once (2 years ago) and I usually get him later on and it hasn't effected my league status.
Not going for overall but league wins.

At 623k, this is the year to start with him.

Keepz Kill Krew
Salary cap left: $68,100

DEF - Kade Simpson, Kade Kolodjashnij, Grant Birchall, Brodie Smith, Nick Malceski
Simmo - consistent 90+, KK on the rise, Birchall will have another high 80's-mid 90's, Smith hopefully can improve, Malceski showed what he can do at the back end of the season.

MIDS - Scott Pendlebury, Gary Ablett jnr, Lachie Neale, Tom Rockliff, Tom Liberatore, Brad Crouch
love Pendles consistency, was convinced of GAJ price, Neale will improve in a gun side, Rocky back to his best, Libba  ;), Crouch = gun.

RUC - Aaron Sandilands, Nic Naitanui
i've heard all the excuses for Sandi, "He's old, he cant keep it up... blah, blah, blah".
he'll keep doing what he does and that is pop out another 105-110 season. has avg 106.64 since 2008 (minus his injured season)
NicNat will again improve.

FWD - Chad Wingard, Michael Barlow, Zach Merrett, Steve Johnson
Wingard is a gun, Barlow underpriced, Merrett could be the bomber shining light this season, and stevie J.... will explode out the blocks and make enough coin early for a quick upgrade.

Mitch W. Brown, Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti

Scott Pendlebury, Gary Ablett jnr, Lachie Neale, Tom Rockliff, Tom Liberatore, Brad Crouch, Jade Gresham, Nathan Freeman

sloane over neale... to many risky picks i feel...

birch, smith, mal, sandi, johno just leaves too much to chance. I only see 10 100% keepers... Get that to atleast 12 and you'll be laughing

Money Shot

I like the team but I think there are almost too many pods.

I like most of them but I just don't think Johnson is any value at all.

Apart from that it is a very good side!

Colley Dogs

Solid structure. I really like how you've spread your money across the different lines. I think your three mid-pricers (Crouch, Libba, Malceski) inside a Guns-n-Rookies set-up are strong picks. As much as I'm tempted to go with a mid-pricer approach this season, I think sides like this are starting to persuade me against it. Particularly the set-and-approach with the Rucks.

I'd agree with Money Shot though. I think you've gone for too many PODs with your premiums. I think you can go with a couple of Neale, Winged, Barlow, Merrett, Johnson, but not all of them.

Good luck this season!

Keeper27

Cheers for the advice guys.
With the lack of any decent back/fwd premos I decided to play safe.
Might not be your usual cookie cutter team but I think all my "PODs" are good solid picks.

Keeper27

gone for a cheap backline coz the point differential between decent DEFs is much lower than any other line.

Kitty - $1600

any advice welcome.

Gigantor

I'm sorry I can't take any team seriously without Rocky in it   :P

I would go Fyfe to Rocky and use that money in the back line, maybe Seedsman to Yeo, I'm wary of any Adelaide defenders at the moment. Smith, Laird, Seedsman, Jaensch will be back at some point even Hampson, too much uncertainty for me

Keeper27

made some changes.

DEF - started off with 4 players who i REALISTICALLY think can go 85-95
MIDS - 4 Players who SHOULD go 115+ & Libba (100+) & Crouch (90+)
RUC - 2 guys who i think can go 105+
FWD - 4 guys who can go 90-105 & one of (Wells/Andersen/Simpkin = 80)

rookies are place holders

Keeper27

any inputs/ideas welcome guys.
Thanks.

Hawker_08

Really like the team. Can't fault it atm. Well done mate!
