worth the risk... at worse he's loopholed with libba averaging 110 between them then theres the best case where he breaks out like selwood, fyfe, rocky, libba has and hes in that same calibre as those guys were at his age if not better imo

I agree. I think it is only a matter of time until he establishes himself as a super premo and why can't it be this year. Anyway, I do agree with you wato and have had ward in and out but you failed to mention that none of the guys you listed are under 560 which means you are saving money, and yes he may average a touch under those guys if he continues as he has over the last couple of years, which can gain points in other lines. Besides, Fyfe is injured, Danger is an unknown and will probably be an upgrade target, Jelwood is injured, Sloane is an unknown and I think he won't handle the tag, Gray will get more mid time I think, Beams continues to get injured and can't last a season and SMitch (Although I am a die hard hawks supporter is getting old. I do think Wines will ave 110-115 this year. Thanks for your comment.

There's something in picking Wines this year, I have just gone over the draw and Port have a brilliant run leading into the byes. Over the first 10 rounds they play the St Kilda, Essendon, Brisbane, Carlton & Melbourne, I think it's fair to say none of these clubs will be challenging for the 8. The hardest matches will be against West Coast, Adelaide & Richmond with Geelong & GWS making up the numbers.

If one discounts Ollie's injury affected matches - 76 against North, 65 against Adelaide and his 21 in his final match of 2015, his average is a very healthy 110. He'll be entering his fourth year of football and this is typically the year that gun mids emerge, I think at 525k he's worth considering.

Anyhow, it confirms what I believe will unfold this year, Wines will have a breakout season and should go 110+. I think with the soft early draw he's a low risk, high reward type player.

I agree. Really like him as a starting pick and has been in my team for a long time now.

Wines could average 115, I'd lock in for 110 anyways.
Whilst you would expect to get those numbers from all of the above, Wines is a good $80-100k cheaper in some cases and therefore he's gotta be on the table of consideration.

Nope, it's trade out a premium for a super-premium. I like Wines but want some strong preseason form to make me take the punt. Danger's game should have also dispelled some of the doomsday predictions.

I never understood the hype about Wines anyway so I endorse that move. Danger's game didn't mean shower though, it was a NAB training run without Selwood, Pendlebury and Treloar. Should be judging Paddy on his 2015 and whole career, and he's proven that he's a top 10 player in the game already. Even if he got 3 kicks like Wines he'd still be top 10.
