Regarding the silent auction, most people did eventually bid with the average bid being around 30G.

What was the second bid? Just want to know how much i overpaid :P

Im stoked got a gold in 3 packs, thats better then the odds.

Sloaney will come good. I need him with crouch out a few weeks.

If people say their bids, it'll ruin it! You never know if you got ripped off or a bargain! :)

This week the auction will be very very different. It will be a "decide your own player" auction and there are potentially some great prizes to be had!

How it will work (it may get complicated so feel free to ask some questions if you're confused):

There will be 4 "positions" up for grabs. A midfielder, a ruckman, a backman and a forward. Whatever the bid stops on, ALL USERS can purchase this position for the set price if they wish.

Eg The bid for ruckman is 20G and midfielder is 26G. All players are able to purchase a ruckman for 20G and/or a mid for 26G.

Naturally, all "positions" will come included as a SILVER rarity.

There will be a silent auction for "Gold" rarity. People may PM me with their bids for "gold" rarity instead of silver rarity. When the auction ends, everyone will be able to purchase "Gold" rarity for the price of the highest bid.

Eg Someone PMs me a bid of 25G for "gold" rarity which is the winning bid. All players can purchase "gold" rarity from me for 25G.

You can then match player "positions" with rarities.

For example, the price for "Ruck" is 20G, "Mid" is 26G, "Forward" is 15G and "Backman" is 10G.
Users may purchase however many they want at those prices for silver rarities of those cards.

The price for "gold" rarity via PM was 20G. Users may purchase "gold" and "mid" for a total of 20+26 = 46G to buy a "gold rarity midfielder". They could also buy gold rarity other positions as well if they want.

Extra Rules:
The person with the winning bid MUST purchase whatever they bid on. EG They bid 26G for a midfielder. They must purchase a midfielder, be it silver or gold.
The person who wins "gold" rarity, must purchase a player position as well.
You cannot purchase multiple of the same position.
You CAN buy multiple "gold" rarities to attach to player "positions".

STRATEGY:

Do you all work together and let the positions be cheap? If you're winning often, do you want the player positions to be expensive so others cannot have an advantage? Who will bid for the "gold" rarity?

The beauty of this is that you not only have to work together to work out the best result possible, you also need to get an advantage over each other. The silent auction for the "gold" rarity will be a true indication of peoples intentions.

I know this is complicated but let's see how this works before going back to the old fashion auctions. If it is successful then we could do this with platinum rarity later in the year.

The auction is officially open. Please PM me for the silent auction regarding "Gold" rarity.

Starting bids are set as follows.

Midfielder: 10G
Ruckman: 10G
Defender: 10G
Forward: 10G

This auction will close on Wednesday to give time for people to work out their best course of action by Friday.

Cheers!

I think I understand it... :P

Nige

That's almost too complex for my simple mind.

Holz

So if its a 30 silver backman then everyone gets a random silver bavk for 30 if thry want it.

The random part i want most cleared up

Nige

Alright, read it again, I understand it.

Would I be right in saying somebody like Rico could set te price high enough that only he could actually bid?

Given people tried their hardest to talk me out of the captain card, I'm gonna enjoy seeing everyone 'work together'. :P

Spite

@Holz, Correct

@Nige, I don't think Rico has enough gold to set the price high for every position

Nige

Ha yeah, I just meant for a certain position if he wanted.

Ricochet

Ok i think i got it.

This will be a good chance to get a better defender than Malceski

Big Mac

Interesting concept

The fact that's it's randomised makes it much harder to judge how much a gold/silver etc is worth

Could end up paying 50 gold for Bob
