Libba. Won't average more than 100.
Because of Minno or because of ACL?

There's roughly 50 players who average 100+ each year. 2.77 per team.

The midfield isn't a 2 man team (Libba and Griff) like it was when Libba was putting up huge numbers. Tom will just be a cog in the machine and there's only so many points to go around. Factor in guys like Murphy, JJ and Stringer who could be around the 90 mark and there's not much of the pie left when there's also...

If Bont doesn't play Crameri's half forward role (Suckling will) then he's a certainty to go 100+ again as a full time mid.
Macrae will be around the mark again.
Dahl will play more midfield than forward so he should back it up.
Hunter will average a heck more than his misleading 2015 average.
Boyd shouldn't drop off much, if at all.
Wallis scored just as well playing off half forward and there's no reason why it won't continue.
Picken might drop a few points, same with Stevens but they really stepped up in Libba's absence.

Libba will be like K. Jack at the Swans. Very capable of going 110+ and would do it for sure if he played in a team like St Kilda where he had to carry the midfield almost single handedly but there's too much quality around him now. Just as Jack dropped due to the emergence of Parker and now Mitchell, Libba will have to deal with Bontempelli, Macrae, Dahl, Wallis and Hunter "stealing" their share of the pie.

But wouldn't he slot in as one of your top 3 mids? Pushing out someone like Picken?

Will probably slot in as one of our 3 best mids, but I think the SC scores will be distributed more evenly with our current line up. I see Libba going from a Matt Priddis/Nathan Jones one man show in the mids to a Ben Cunnington type scorer. Elite clearance and contested possessions but that's all they do. It'll be difficult to average any more than 100 from 23 possessions, and Tom doesn't kick goals.

Seriously considering not starting Libba as a POD for my team. Potential masterstroke.. or bad move I'm rushing to correct round 3 after back to back 130s to open the season.

plumdog millionaire

Saw a lot of people say it end of last year along with myself, going no mid pricers if I can help it. If there are enough rookie priced players I will have none except EMac

He's being pushed out of the midfield rotation though and was spending more time up forward which saw his scores drop. Libba can't play up forward because like you said he doesn't hit the scoreboard. I'm not disagreeing with the assessment of Libba, I also don't think he will score enough to be a keeper for a lot of the same reasons that you listed but he might be a good option to turn into a fallen premium.

Another for me Paparone.  Has been really tearing up the preseason but has he the improvement to lift his average to the required 90-95.  Priced at $417k so very awkward.

Sam Gray

For sure.  Also keep looking at Leigh Montagna and his fwd status but no way I'm doing it.

How bout Tom bell?

Ringo

Tom Bell is performing well in the intraclub trials as well and will slot into the HF role straight away. With the reduction of interchange can see a number of players interchanging and rotating through mids including Bell.

What about his tackling meow? Libba is a beast in that category, and surely 20+ touches with 7+ tackles has got put him in with a chance of pushing 110?
