Have been quiet on goldy but will say this as a warning.

Dont pick him at your own risk.

If he goes 125+ good luck getting him in.

I was on the Mumford train full steam ahead at the start of the preseason, but now that he's a tad older I don't think he will be playing more than 18 games a season to keep him fresh for finals.

I have never understood why anyone ever considers Mumford.  He's played 8 seasons, only 3 of those have yielded an average of more than 100, and games played per year from last year going back, 11, 17, 19, 14, 17, 19, 18, 3.  I have been talking mummy down for years, he's an injury waiting to happen, and this year he has come out and talked up his own injuries, and how battered his body is.  There are so many other quality rucks to pick from, I cant believe Mummy is even on the list.

It is the allure of his high scores that he pumps out, and the thought that 'this will be the year' he gets his big body right and stays on the paddock. Like the stripper that shows u a lot of interest and you keep feeding her pineapples so she dances for you and shows her bits, by in the end you go home alone feeling a little cheated and disappointed

I'm a little concerned you are using a stripper analogy for a player nicknamed "Mummy"  :P

The idea of picking Mummy has to be around him not playing 22 games, it would be about getting a premium return at the position while seeing who the top couple of guys are. If you think Goldy is going to drop in price you can use Mummy as an alternative where you'll get your 100 points or so a week and when he gets injured trade him to a cheaper Goldstein.

I'm considering him for this reason, there is generally a variance as to who the top couple guys are, I think Goldstein will be one, but say there is a guy from left field that comes out and smashes it, I could grab them when the annual injury happens.

Anyone tempted on a set up of: Premium, Currie (cox) and have Grimley in the forward line.

Currie looked pretty good last night but all depends how he  goes when Nicholls comes back.
This also opens up another premium spot in the mids where there aren't many solid rookie options

Too risky. Currie gets dropped and then you're flowered. Yeah you field Grimley but lose a stack of points

SC is a lot about taking risks, sometimes they pay off.
The possibility for success are far greater than failure here IMO

If he spuds it up / gets injured its a simple trade out to someone on the bubble or someone owning

I cant see him dropping in price much, if he maintains that 105 ave. it wouldn't be a bad decision as a keeper

Mind you, he isn't in my side, but has been this pre season

NN locked

I know it was against currie (who is actually decent)

but 85 DT 101 SC in 74% game time, yes please.

the best stat, 7 tackles just one below pridda

averaged 4 a game in his AA year and last year. Gives him a nice SC foundation to build on

Actually, I sort of like the structural idea. Will certainly now have a look at what players might work.
Nice idea Cortez. Always on the lookout for the weird approach early in the season.  8)

I have Mummy and NN at this stage. Dropping Goldy to NN allowed me to then bring a lower priced premo into D4 for Emac

I know I will have to trade Mummy out but if he can play the first 8-10 weeks he will end up IMO similar in price with Goldy with the excellent ruck match-up draw that Mummy has.

If he stays on the park all year its a bonus, if not he should be able to bridge the gap price wise to Goldy before making that trade.

NN a slight injury risk and Mummy a huge injury risk. Where is your cover?

Mummy will not catch Goldy. Absolute terrible pick at 570k he plays just enough not to get a discount each year.

Perhaps this will help

Total Points Each year

Goldy: 1977 1842 2392
Mummy: 1483 1573 1038

burn trades and lose points if you want but I would need 200k+ difference to even think about it.

Goldy will beat his average, smash his total score and require one less trade.

I can see it costing 200 points easy and a trade or possibly two.

Ill use that extra trade to downgrade someone and pocket over 120k.

you can make picks like this in the mid with guys like Fyfe Ablett (who are far less risky anyway) as there are lots of options to go down to.

I pose you a question lets say Mummy comes out the gate goes 100 110 30 (injured) and is now 550k. Who do you pick?

his draw isnt that good

Round 1: Max Gawn: Gawn a running machine i think he could get abit tired by the games end
Round 2: Yes easy matchup but maybe Blicavs does 3rd man up. Also Danger Selwood possibly getting his taps.
Round 3: Again easy ruck matchup but Sydney mids are quality
Round 4: Should smash Lobbe but again port mids are good
Round 5: I expect him to go big here (if not injured)
Round 6: Another weak ruck but strong mid game against the 3 time premiers
Round 7: Sandi will smash him

I have them playing 5 finalists in the first seven
