Rucks are an area where we can spend a lot of money or see value for money

I currently have Mummy & Nic Nat to try and get some value which of course is the name of the game.

Im playing around with KTip  - I do like the FWD - Ruck DPP...its one of my habits that I find useful and it has helped me greatly in the past

Finding a pairing for KTip is the thing - Im currently looking at LLowden or the big Gorry...any1 think Gorry will get a game?

I actually think Gorry is decent - he is a big unit also. Suns shouldn't have let him go

Any interest in starting Currie at r2 and splashin the cash elsewhere? hes mature age at rookie price and will play. Stuck behind goldy for years Nows his chance. Thoughts?

I don't think you can start Currie as more then bench depth with Nicholls there. You would probably have to go Nicholls R2 and Currie R3 and you're basically guaranteed one playing each week. Nicholls averaged 88 unsubbed last year so a 90 average is probably the best you can hope for. He is priced at $439,200 which means he is cheaper then Grundy/Kreuz/Tippett that all averaged around the 90 mark, however compared to the elite scoring of the top 3 or 4 it's 15-20 ppg less. So you would have to upgrade him somewhere down the track. It's also a big if he can average 90.

Going with either S.Martin or Mummy and Berger with Tippett,Grimley and King/Chol so plenty of flexibility and back up. :)

Currently looking at going with Goldy & Sinclair.
Never liked locking both away before the season in case there is a must have and there is no spot for him....
Goldy is a must have. Hopefully Sinclair carrys the majority of the load puts up a respectable enough score allowing me to see who the must have R2 is, then hopefully swing Sinclair to F6 (F7 even better) to have as cover come finals.
Thoughts on that?

I shoulda put 211 and Gawn in the list

Ive had Nic Nat and the Sausage Fiend up until 5 mins ago and came here for some inspiration after changing to Goldy & Gawn

Goldy's extremely fit and durable - I might just lock him into captain to start

Nic Nats a freak and I might be crying in my cornflakes if I leave him out

The sausage fiend can score big but is a bit injury prone ....

Bah.....4 more weeks to go....100 changes to come in that time

Does anyone think that Goldy, Stef & Nic Nat won't finish as the Top 3 rucks?

I wouldn't say it's impossible, I also wouldn't say it's set.

Goldy done deal. The other two top 3 spots could be any of Martin, NN, Mummy, or Sauce for me.

Mummy scores well but isn't durable, simple as that. Martin had a top tier season last year, but top rucks traditionally don't back up particularly well, but I'd say he's a good bet. NicNat and Sauce have both had one elite season which if they can do again will put them right up there, but NicNat has had injury troubles which aren't just going to evaporate, they need to be managed, interchange cap could be a problem for him. Sauce is just consistently good but not great.

I think the good thing about Stef is that his points don't really come from the rucking, more so from the disposals and what not around the ground, which leads me to believe he can back it up well.

Sauce frustrated me a little last year, but is one of the more durable rucks I can think of, which is always a positive.

Nothing's really set. Injuries and the interchange cap are 2 major factors that are unpredictable.
We assume the interchange cap will help ruckman as they will spend more time on the ground but rucks only really score when they are in the middle winning hitouts so the load may be shared more than ever which is a slight concern.
Still backing Goldy in to be top 3 and really the other 2 spots could be made up from any one of 4-5 players imo

Goldy, Sauce and Stef had like 90% TOG last year so i doubt they'd be affected

Peoples thoughts on Minson at r2?

Beveridge said the number one ruck spot is open and whoever performs in NAB gets first crack and rumours are Minno is back
