What's everyone's thoughts on Bastinac.  I think a move to the Lions might pay off for him and could become a premium player/scorer.

Ringo

I see him as the replacement for Redden. Will probably play an inside role which is where he scored best at Kangaroos. Probably do not see him becoming super premo though as i can see him averaging 85 -95.

Definite no
Might be a good choice in a draft league later on but yes, better options in sc.

Just a comment from the coaches today after todays intrsa club trial.

“Rhys Mathieson looked like he’s got something to offer us in time, and Ryan Bastinac, a few times he got it and was able to use it pretty well.”

Damn, when i saw his name I was hoping to see something a little more promising for him to play early on this year

As a kangas supporter, I can tell you that he's a really average player. He isn't quick, a particular good kick, or strong in contested areas. I'd be surprised if he plays more than 15 games.

No chance of scoring like a midfield premium.

Next.

Agree. Overrated, and expected to be something he will never be

Agree with comments - Although the logical replacement for Jack Redden do not see him scoring like Jack.  Think maybe 85 - 95 which is no good for a premium even as a stepping stone value not there so a definite pass.

In my opinion, Basta isn't strong enough at the contest to be a high scoring inside mid. If I were Leppitsch, I'd play Mathieson or Jansen instead. They're much better options for the future. They have Tom Bell as well, although he might play up forward.

Bell will play off half forward, drifting into the mids at times but not too often I'd say

Yeh Bell doesn't have the tank to be a full time mid
