I know this guy burnt a few people last year, but this article has spiked my interest in him, and he does have the runs on the board in terms of being super prem previously

http://www.gwsgiants.com.au/news/2016-01-15/ryan-griffen-20

- He has shed 5kg this preseason and has not missed a session
- His partner moved up with him 2 months ago and he is now settled in GWS
- He is training in the midfield group, but will play off half back from time to time

At 489k with all these positive signs and his scoring history I am genuinely tempted

Discuss :)

Wouldn't be surprised to see him average 105+ but he burnt me so bad last year, I can't do it again. If he had defender status though, he would be a lock.

Gigantor

If he had DPP lock, but as a pure mid its a pass for me

He might increase his average to 100 but at his price I would want to see him get at least 105 and become a solid M8 which I don't see happening.

He has only been a super premium for one year and only averaged over 100 3 times so not huge amount of runs on the board imo

If I was going to take a punt on a 400-500k mid I would probably go Swallow and save 70k

shaker

At 489K he could just sit there in your mids not making a great deal of money till you have to waste a trade or 2 to get rid of him , he could be a good pod but not for me

kilbluff1985

would rather Wines for a bit extra is really tearing up the track doing well in time trials etc

BomberSam

Libba and Crouch much better, cheaper options IMO.

He could definitely provide some outstanding value for those bold enough to pick him, but I think he is more likely a negative POD.

I am also biased as a 2015 Griffen owner. I started him at M5 and carried him through to his round 13 bye. In this time he averaged 88.2 and dropped $100,900 in price.

Peter

I'm with BomberSam - once bitten, twice shy; especially with GWS midfield

He should be a defender. He played the whole second half of the season at half back.
Would be locked in my team if he was a defender but wouldn't touch him as a mid

Wines, Rockliff, Shiel, Boak, Jack, Parker all 30-60k more are probably worth over griff as KB has said!

Still applying burn cream from last year, no dice

Near the top of my "most unwanted, never again, no second chance, are you kidding" grudge list.

I'll think about him next year when he has DPP  :)

LOCK!

That's if he gets DPP. He did more than enough to get it last year and didn't  >:(

Plus he was in my team last year yet could still be a POD stepping stone.  No not for me I have too much ground to make up after a prick of a 2015
