Here is my first attempt at my 2016 supercoach team:

DEF:- G. Birchall, E. Yeo, B. Smith, C. Yarren, N. Malceski, A. Morgan (R. Bonner, B. Rice)
MID:- T. Rockliff, J. Selwood, D. Shiel, L. Parker, B. Gibbs, T. Liberatore, B. Crouch, N. Freeman (D. Cunningham, R. Mathieson, B.Sier)
RUCK:- M. Lobbe, M. Leuenberger (M. Cox)
FWD:- C. Wingard, M. Barlow, S. Edwards, L. Franklin, Z. Merrett, S. Kerridge (C. Petracca, M. Brown(ESS))

CASH: $74,000

I think my only real worry with my defence is Yarren, I wanted to go Houli but i see Yarren as someone who can average pretty close to Houli for the year...so worth freeing up the cash.
Let me know what you think

I like that you are brave enough to plan such a POD side, but my advice would be to take out a few of the make or break players and replace them with surer/safer options.

Risk vs. Reward.

Yarran
Malceski

Gibbs

Lobbe
Leuenberger

You don't need to go 5 deep in defence, I would say eliminate Yarran from your woes and free up some cash. Eliminate Gibbs and use the extra cash to turn Parker into a super premium pick (Ablett/Pendles/Sloane). Drop a forward, Wingard/Edwards (in my opinion) then sure up your rucks. Leuey is very injury prone and I feel that it's dangerous to start without a super-premo ruckman (Goldy/Martin/Sauce/NicNat/Sandi/Mumford) with an eye to upgrading the other one. I feel that ruck cover is a MUST if you start Leuey at R2. In my team, he is the cover, sitting at F5.

I see 9-13 keepers... Which is good but they're none of those elite guys apart from rocky, Selwood and Barlow. So you'll be relying on getting lucky through loopholing and a 130+ from rocky each week. Risking a little too much I think

this otherwise you will require a lot of luck.

This team contains a lot of risks which have been already stated,

You will be really losing points with this team compared to others in the League or if going for overall.  Most teams as the number 1 for each line will have one of the Top 10 and only Wingard fits that and he is not in a lot of teams (He is my 3rd forward though as an example.

If new have a look at the structure of a number of teams in this board  and then make up your own mind and go with gut.  My latest team is in my team thread if you want to have a look at mine for comparison purposes and to see the points you will lose.  Not saying that you have to make it identical but to give you an idea of how to structure your team with super premos (high priced), premos mid priced and rookies.

Sorry if this offends but giving an honest opinion.

DEF: J. Bartel, E. Yeo, B. Smith, C. Yarren, N. Malceski, M. Hartley (R. Bonner, K. Collins)
MID: G. Ablett, D. Shiel, L. Parker, T. Rockliff, B. Gibbs, T. Liberatore, B. Crouch, C. Petracca (D. Cuningham, R. Mathieson, N. Freeman)
RUCKS: S. Mumford, M. Lobbe (M.Cox)
FWD: D. Martin, C. Wingard, M. Barlow, L. Franklin, R. Burton, S. Kerridge (P. Ahern, M. Brown-Ess)
CASH: 5k

-So i know Yarren is a risk, but i see him eating up into Houli's usage...and he is an elite user of the ball. Started off solidly first 2 games last year and then punched Paul Chapman and never recovered. New club, i reckon he will be revitalized.
-What does everyone think of Ryan Burton, now that Roughead is out, i could see him being a key part of their forward line especially with shoenmakers maybe going down back now lakes gone.
-Dusty or Shaun Edwards, is it worth having the extra 70k?
-What are your thoughts on Nakia Cockatoo?
-Any other rookies you would have over the ones ive got???

Thanks
