Simpkin, Grimley and Polkinghorne are good selections. Simpkin and Grimley unlucky to be cut from Hawthorn after excellent VFL seasons and Polk won our VFL B+F last year

Dea is a solid pick I guess. Another unlucky to be cut from a senior list.

Crowley is going very well on the training track - he has a point to prove I guess after his year out.

Kelly is questionable, is he going to be able to get through a full season? If he was able to he would still be at Geelong

Stokes, Jamar and Grima are terrible picks. Physically they are not up to it and I don't see them getting a lot of game time.

Yeah I think you've really nailed it here, Crowley and Kelly I think were good picks from a mentorship and experience point of view, and a few high performing younger guys but yeah those tail-enders don't quite make sense.

Jamar couldnt get a game with the Dees!!!

They are really scrapping the bottom of the barrel

Essendon seem like they could be a good source for rookies this year - -but how many is too many? Considering they are going to do things tough

I currently have Brown, Hartley, Polkinghorne, Grimley and Tippa/Kommer

5 seems like a lot, and they may not all play anyway, but for now they seem likely

Too much?

If there playing stack em in RD I will be but most only for the bench you will probably unload most by mid season anyway

kilbluff1985

yeah i have 5 plus Zerrett

i think it's a good idea having like Dea, Brown, Hartley in defense since it's likely at least 2 will play each week

Surely can't be much different to when we picked GCS and GWS rookies?

Yes, the rookies won't be early round draft picks but there will be more seasoned players around them?

I've got all those plus Simpkin as well. He's 3k more then Weitering so I see him as an expensive rookie. I could even go with Tippa and Kommer depending on if they are both named and the available options. Polkinghorne is the one I might look at dumping down the track, they are all cheap and if they can average 60 it's a nice profit. They aren't going to stay in my team so it's no big deal.

Yeah I figured as much

Only Brown I have on field, but the rest are on the bench. As long as they play they'll make cash - just place holders for now anyway

Cheers

Same five for me too mate. At least with so many of Essendon's best 22 out it would appear that if they play round 1 then there JS is pretty good.

I would prefer the Essendon rookie priced players compared to rookies from the best teams in the comp that have shaky JS.

RD you don't have Dea?

I have no idea why people are picking this guy. 180k for a guy who will average poorly if he plays round 1 at all.
