Do people think Merret will do enough to avg 100+?

Rule a line through all Essendon premos, they will get smashed this year, particularly forwards.

So this means Essendon players are free to play until their verdict or will they still not play? I'm confused

no they airnt seeking an injunction cause if they loose they will miss 2 years or something so they are still not playing this year

So what do they get out of it then?

I'd sit out a year to prove I'm not a drug cheat.

I think there's a difference between being a knowing drug cheat and being duped into drug cheating, but in both cases, you're still a drug cheat. I don't think any reasonable person would think they weren't doped, but most reasonable people probably can see they didn't realise. This is foolish from them imo.

you guys havent read a bunch of the articles pointing so many dodgey things WADA/ASADA did changing evidence etc

Yes agree there is no appeal for being dumb just ask Saad , Zaharakis didn't let himself be injected ? they got 1 year not 2 so they have not been treated to harsh but they don't seem smart enough to realize they are the ones that are responsible for what goes into there body even though certain culprits at the club are the ones that got them into there predicament

When I was in the army people were jabbing us with needles and feeding us anti-jungle pills every second day.  Nobody asked what it was they were pumping into us, you just shut your mouth, did what you were told and hoped for the best. If anyone did ask they were slapped down, ostracised, and branded a trouble-maker rather than a team player, etc etc.  So, it was a lot easier to simply turn a blind eye, follow the rest of the herd and hope it was for the best.  These kids and young men at Essendon had no criminal intent and to be brand them as criminals is ludicrous and mean-spirited. They were caught up in an incredibly untenable situation, and my guess is that most of the people reading this would, most likely, have acted the same way.  Those boys should be playing. The coaches, medical staff and club executive, at the time, should be banned for life.

dont see why any would get discounts at all.

will 99% just get their 2015 average times the new magic number.

Crowley's price suggests otherwise. He's at 200k, 30% below what he should technically be priced at, after a year off for drug sanctions. Of course there are far more of the Essendon blokes for next year, but i'd suggest they'll be discounted to some extent after a year of no footy.

You're not gonna be banned from the army for taking performance enhancers though so of course you wouldn't ask many questions.
Agree they have been screwed over but if there's any job in the world where you need to be rediculously precautious, it's as a professional athlete.
If they let athletes claim ignorance then they will abuse it unfortunately

ronl

Yes, unfortunately, you're probably right.  There are those who would abuse it and that's unfortunate.  I personally don't believe that that was the case at Essendon, nor would it have been the case at any other AFL club.

enzedder

Parish, Brown, Simpkin, Kommer and Redman in my team atm.
All cheap types... no premos for me and Leuey has to be given the flick. Running laps. Probably been posted elsewhere I'm a day behind trying to catch up. :)

Ruckman Matthew Leuenberger, who has been dealing with Achilles soreness, would also be unavailable. The Lions recruit spent the training session jogging laps around the boundary and working with top draftee Aaron Francis on the far oval at Tullamarine.

So apparently Essendon look likely to lure Grima out of retirement  :-\

Seeing as he retired in 2014 what would he cost?
