Mr.Craig

Oliver, Parish, Marcon, Pickett, Ahern, Kennedy, Freeman, Gresham, Rice, Adams, Dunkley, Keays, Hipwood, Bonner, Broad, Hibberd, Brown, Mills, Hopper, Mathieson....and then there's the ones we haven't even considered yet who might pop up.

Enough of them will play and make a fist of it for there not to be an issue.

Gigantor

I would love there to be rookie carnage this year, it would make things a lot more interesting! Mid price madness or picking rookies who aren't named?

Last year was a bit boring, everyone picked pretty much the same starting rookies.

But as other have said plenty of unknowns will pop up during nab like Oxley, Saad, Vandenberg and CEY from last year

I also see Charlie Curnow doing something comparable to Cam McCarthy last year (not a starter but definitely one to keep an eye on when he starts receiving opportunities - should be early on as well)

Top tier draftees with delayed starts usually impress as well (Cripps last year was the best example)

Look to Ahern, Laverde, Nathan Freeman etc. for some value there (Jed Anderson could be a solid cash generator as well)

I reckon maybe 3 of those line up round 1

I would prefer this rookie carnage too.... But just trying to be prepared ... If it is rookie carnage by looks of it these folk will be burning traded

Ricochet

These are some decent backline options. We'll get 4-5 from here imo

MBrown - should play at Essendon with Carlisle gone now
Wagner - mature ager thats gone to Melb who uses it well. Will slot across hb and will play imo
Tucker is a bit ify but he's a gun kid and can see him slotting in across half back for Freo
Adams - is already huge and ready to go
Nathan Broad - mature ager and Richmond need his run and carry out of defence imo
Mitch Brown - will be like Nath Brown this year
Clem Smith - 50/50 - but Blues will get games into some of these kids
Golds - 50/50 - moved to the pies and their backline is far from set
MHibberd - 50/50 - but is a good size and ready to go
Whitecross - 50/50 - Suckling gone now but a bit more expensive at 198k
AFrancis - should play but a bit more expensive
Mullett - 50/50 - but i like him and has shown he can be a good scorer in the past
Andy Otten - unlikely - just had a cleanout of the knee but will be back training at the end of Jan

Grufflez

It's simple, if there is a shortage of rookies named R1 then everyone throws in a few mid pricers in the mix.
Crap teams always present the most rookie options.

RaisyDaisy

I think there will easily be enough rookies available rd1 - in fact I reckon there will be more available then there will be slots to fill in our sides.

Not one mention of Cunningham from Carlton too - a near lock to line up rd1

Yet not one blues fan on bigfooty have him in their best 22

Peter

He doesn't need to be in best 22, you given the opportunity to play a few early games, before back to twos to use what he has learnt

I know it's like this every year.

But for reasons I have already outlined I feel pickings will be slimmer.

If there are no injuries .... Show me some likely rookies

Please stop kidding yourself.

Most teams will cop 1 or 2 injuries, at least, before Round 1, and most teams will look to play a Rookie or two for Round 1.
Rookies will get their chance to earn their spots, NAB cup is their chance, and always will be. That's how we've always picked our Rookies, isn't it?

As a Blues fan, neither do I, but he is most likely best 24/25, which is what really needs to be considered with inevitable injuries.

I have the same placeholder set up as u all

I have merely proposed the possibility of a lack of rookie availability so I am seeking answers. We all have more of an insight into our own team about who the possible inclusions to our best 22 are. I asked about jed Anderson recently and got shot down in flames about his chances.

The Eagles have no rookie options.

You give me yours

So if the Eagles get struck down by injury, as we saw last year, they still have no rookies at all?
