After an average season last year, I am very excited to bring 2016 on. Here is my first side. Any criticism is welcome and thank you in advance.

Cash Remaining: 92,600

Def: KK, Bartel, Smith, Harwood, E.MacKenzie, M.Brown (Bonner, Brown)

Mid: Pendles, Ablett, Rockliff, Wines, Libba, Crouch, Mills, Kerridge (Cunningham, Fiorini, Mathieson)

Ruck: Goldy, Mummy (Loeresch)

Fwd: Martin, Gunston, Barlow, Berger, Wells, Kennedy (Petracca, Bilic)

Once again thanks and all feedback is welcome and helpfull  :) :)

Ringo

Nice team here Hawker -

Only comment I would make and up to you rather than Loeresch would look at Kings from Melbourne for DPP. Suns have a large number of Saturday games some early so if working loophole may snooker yourself.  Melbourne have 11 Sunday/Monday Games.

Interesting ruck choice with Goldy and Mummy but will pay off big time if Mummy has a full season.

Not sold on Wines but could pay off for you.

After having a look at DMCC's team and structure, I have made a few alterations. It is starting to come along nicely. Here it is:

Def: KK, Bartel, Yeo, Smith, MacKenzie, Brown (Bonner, Brown)

Mid: Pendles, Ablett, Rockliff, Parker, Wines, Libba, Crouch, Cunningham (Freeman, Morrabito, Mathieson)

Ruck: Goldy, Mummy (Loeresch)

Fwd: Martin, Barlow, Berger, Wells, Kennedy, Kerridge (Petracca, Ahern)

Cash Remaining: NOTHING

TIA.

Peter

Prefer team 1, but still with King in DPP per Ringo's comment

Thanks for your comment however I am actually liking team 2 at the moment.

Harwood 80, Mills 75, and Gunston 100 = 255 and 1 keeper

vs

Yeo 90, Parker 110, and Petracca 70 = 270 and 2 keepers

2 keepers to 1 so less trades required and with 5 premos in mid I should get a great start.

Howdy, I don't like the Mummy pick, a lot of money for a guy with a track record that clearly displays that he won't play every game. Ballsy move if you're looking for a POD, but fraught with danger.

Thanks mate. I just think that if he can get his body right he can be no 1 or 2 ruck at the same price as those that will propably finish 4-8 (Nic Nat, Jacobs, Sandi, etc). That is why I have opted for him and have cover with berger and a decent fwd bench so I am prepared. It also means that If he does get injured I have little restrictions as to who can come in for him.

16 or 17 solid top picks with rookies. Hard to fault. Well balanced.
Mummy is arguably the best ruck, excluding Goldy. I see no harm in starting him but might cost you a trade. Wells, Wines and Parker would be the playerss I'd look at first if you decide to restructure.

Due to the recent news with the Essendon and Luey situation I have made a new side that I do like the look of. Here it is:

Def: KK, Bartel, Yeo, Smith, MacKenzie, Brown (Bonner, Brown)

Mid: Pendles, Ablet, Rockliff, Wines, Libba, Crouch, Trengove, Gresham (Cunningham, Ahern, Mathieson)

Ruck: Goldy, Nic Nat (Loeresch)

Fwd: Martin, Barlow, Franklin, Bird, Kennedy, Kerridge (Petracca, Adams)

Would love your thoughts and opinions. Cheers.

Money Shot

Not much to say there mate it's a good side.

Like this... would be worth getting 50k to get mcveigh in instead of kk.

Teams Name: Dobbo's Legends V16.4

Def: McVeigh, Houli, Bartel, Smith, Brown, Brown (Bonner, Tipungwuti)

McVeigh is a lock but if he doesn't line up Round 1 then I will make some adjustments and get Shaw in. Houli is a bit of a POD - He has a massive ceiling and I believe he can go 95+ again. I haven't seen him in many teams. Bartel without his 5 in Rd 3 last year would have averaged around 100 and Smith showed his potential a couple of seasons back and I hope he can replicate that form.

Mid: Pendlebury, Ablett, Gray, Rockliff, Liberatore, Crouch, Gresham, Freeman (Sumner, Cunningham, Hibberd)

Gray with his easy draw early on can, and I believe he will go 115 this year. The rest is standard. I tried to get a few trading degrees in there with sumner and hibberd but all rookies are placeholders now. Will wait for the NAB cup to start to determine these selections.

Ruck: Goldstein, Martin (King)

Set & Forget. Nothing to see here.

Fwd: Martin, Bennell, Barlow, Bird, Kerridge, Petracca, (Ahern, Kommer)

Martin now that he has been cleared is a lock and so is Barlow with DPP. Bennell I am unsure about and am liking Zorko. I would love your thoughts on who should fill this position and if Lids and Joey are worth their hefty price tag. Bird should play consistent midfield minutes at the dons with their current scenario and he has shown his scoring capabilities when he hasn't been affected by the sub rule.

Cash Remaining: $3,000

I am liking this team quite a lot but it still has a bit of work in my opinion, so as always, all thoughts and opinions are welcome. Cheers fellas.

Good looking team Hawker.  Would be happy to start season with this.
I can appreciate the structure.  Personally I would not have two backs over 500k. Dont see Houli generating 95, maybe a 90+ average at best has only had one other season over 90 in 2013.  see KK with more upside if his role is right.
Lot of money for set and forget Rucks but probably worth it.   Bird should generate enough for an upgrade but not be a keeper.
14/15 keeps to start, great job.

Ringo

Nice Team and structure and nice Pods which I hope pay off for you.

The questionable forward selection is a hard one.  With the retun of fitness of Brisbane Mids can see Zorko getting less mid time. (Beams, Rocky, Basti, Hanley, Rich, Christo and Robbo will make it difficult for all to get time). Whether he can hit the scoreboard to compensate though is the question.

Bennell is an enigma with his off field issues and if he gets them under control could be a plus.  Need to see how he goes in preseason.

My preference would be Dahlhaus as I do not think Libbas return will effect him as much as some say. Think Macrae will be the one to be most effected.

Thanks Ringo, I have made a few adjustments and agree with the dahlhaus argument you put forward. Bird, Gresham, Houli and bennell have made way for Franklin, Keays, Yeo and Dahlhaus.
