Profile:

Boyd spent a lot more time in the backline in 2015, earning himself pure DEF status for us Supercoachers in 2016. Even at the age of 33, he still manages to perform week in, week out, although does miss the occasional game here and there, whether it be from a slight niggle or just simply player management.

He finished 17th for average disposals per game, 12th for marks, 11th for rebound 50s, and 16th for kicks, and earned an All-Australian nomination. There is no doubt that the old dog still has what it takes to go on another year at an elite level.



Pros:

Has become a defender this year

Years of elite scoring, having averaged 95+ for the last 8 years

Can score big

Only 2 games under 80 excluding the Elimination Final

Cons:

Will almost certainly miss a few games here and there

Occasional low scoring game



Prediction:

While I think Boyd will be a top 3 defender on average points per game, he's going to miss a few here and there for sure, so for me he's an ideal upgrade target later on in the season, but even so make sure you have a decent bench option. With the Doggies on the up, can see him pushing a 105 avg, even at the ripe old age of 33.
