My big call - Pendles to not be a top 10 averaging mid

predicting an injury?

thats the only way i can see it being a correct call.

Let's be honest, Greenwood isn't going to be pulling super-premo numbers. Neither is Crisp/Adams etc.

Collingwood's elite scorer's will be:
Pendles, Treloar & (maybe) Sidebottom. That's it. Swan is on his way out unfortunately, he won't be at 110+ again.

I picked Pendles @ #1 in my draft league last year over Ablett and copped it from my mates early, only two I was disappointed not to have were Fyfe & Goldy.

Gun. Underpriced. Locked.

Adams.... you cant be serious. will average 100+ no doubt!

Underpriced is the funniest bit of this....

I would of laughed at you to... Rocky and Ablett would of both averaged more... How were they to know Ablett and Rockliff would both have injury affected seasons?

You got lucky... thats all there is to it, there was no genius in that selection.

I think that's a poor comment - Ablett was always coming off a season ending injury and little preseason, so was a reasonable chance to underperform for either reason, while Rockliff's scoring history isn't quite in the same league as Pendlebury's yet either.

You're entitled to your opinion, but to call another ones comment poor is bemusing. Ablett had 8 months to get that shoulder right, so your statement is laughable at best! Rockliff fit, is a better scorer than pendles fit in THIS day. So good on you fool.
Let's take a step back Noto.
You're calling people fools who rank Top 1k regularly.
Have an opinion but criticising others is not on.

Lets take a step forward....
Thats great. Singular not plural. Was only one person being called a fool.
Them and the other 999 people can have their opinion too...
But i wont sit back and let some dead beat call an opinion of mine poor.
I didn't call your opinion poor, I called your comment poor, refering to the last line of your post, which I interpreted to be unnecessarily "aggressive" and not entirely backed up by stastics. Perhaps you have have a history with the initial poster, I'm not sure, or my interpretation was off the mark. It was not my intention to offend, however I certainly didn't call anyone a "fool" or a "deadbeat" - how you reached those conclusions from my post, I find hard to understand.

Said it with Selwood last year and with more involved in the midfield for the pies now I feel maybe Pendles could be utilised elsewhere for extended period of times. Big call I know.

Clearly a better pick than Selwood though

My worry, as he can play anywhere

GM

Pendles is their elite disposal unit.
Whether he plays mid , half back or forward they will use him.
His DT numbers might drop a little but his SC numbers will hold.
Worse case scenario 110 ave imo.
But importantly he is durable and will tough out niggles.
He will hold Top 5 mid at seasons end imo.

Clear troll. 100 for mid-only Adams is certainly NOT super-premium... where's the confusion?
You call it luck, but I had invested plenty of time into my decision. Rocky has still only had 1 premium year, his 130 is a definite outlier. GAJ as others have pointed out had (and still has) injury niggles that restrict his output. Unlike most I don't believe GAJ will ever go 120+ over a whole season again.

GL for 2016.

fasttrack13

he doesn't need a thread for discussion... Lock!

He scored 136 playing HB against the Hawks of all teams, he's kicked 4 goals in a match before, averages near enough to 30 touches... He's going to play midfield Swan makes way for Treloar and moves forward. Pendles will have his best SC averaging year ever!

Selwood would have finished top 10 mids if he didn't miss games though and that was just averaging 104 so unless you're predicting Pendles to average lower than that or miss games then he will certainly finish top 10 mids

I've read a few peoples thoughts on the matter, but I thought I'd get a few more haha. I'm reading a lot about Pendlebury being used across HB and training down there etc. I know the obvious responses will be lock, lock, lock every year. But it has to be given more thought I think. If he's playing back there, which I don't know why he would on a weekly basis, he wouldn't average 120. M

My personal thoughts are that why would the Pies permanently take out there best midfielder from there when they are talking about rising up to finals...

But the media continues to say Pendles off HB. Thoughts? Cheers.

kilbluff1985

so many players each year apparently are going to change positions each year but never do

MC

In response to that:

Shaw averaged 112 playing ONLY across half-back last year, wouldn't have run far past the centre square. Pendles might rest down back occasionally, though I would suggest that's more likely to be Sidebottom as per the last couple of years, with Pendles resting forward and snagging a few goals.

shorty3264

Yeh, good point fellas. I've got no doubt he can score well anywhere. But it's just like, is it going to be 110? or 120? haha. I'll be watching closely throughout NAB Challenge.

Holz

he will score anywhere he plays if he is in the mid they will give him the ball, if he is in the backline they will give him the ball he will probably kick it to someone run up get the hands then kick it into the forward line.

you dont keep and elite player like him without the ball in his hands. If he is in the backline doing nothing he will move into the midfield.

I dont care where he plays as long as he is in my team.

as MC said shaw averaged 112. I like shaw but he isnt close to pendles if shaw can get 112 in that role then pendles can go 120+

there are 5 guys i see possible to go 120+

Pendles Fyfe Goldy Ablett Rocky.

I have all 5 in my team, you cant afford to see your opponent racking up monster scores from these guns and you not.

worse case he goes 110+ barring injury.
