Coach Darren Lehmann said Bailey's omission, along with that of Mitchell Marsh, enabled selectors to have a closer look at some lesser known players and added that the pair were still in contention for the World T20.

I'm glad Lynn and Head are in, gotta reward BBL performance. But I certainly would have had Bailey before Smith or Marsh.

There's a decent chance neither of those two play I reckon.

Finch, Warner, Watson, Lynn, Maxwell, Head, Faulkner, Wade, Hastings, Boland, Tye/Lyon/Boyce could be an option, although a lot less experienced

The way BBL has been they'll probably play a spinner along with Maxy, Lyon gotta be above Boyce.

Anyone with common sense would agree with you. Unfortunately common sense isn't common among the selectors  :-\

Did they seriously not pick George Bailey?

The guy is in great first clast form, great one day form and great twenty20 form - and he doesn't get picked.

I'm Bailey's #1 fan, and I just can't see how a guy gets selected for Australia in the first place when he DOESN'T have the form (for his Captaincy), and then 'retires' from the short form to focus on scoring runs in first class and one day...... DOES IT, comes out in the BBL and scores in the top 3 in the comp (across the first 6 games), and now doesn't get selected.

Why is Finch Captain of the T20?  The omission of Bailey the big issue for me for 2 reasons he is C material and has Indian experience.

Bailey retired from the captaincy to focus on the other forms of the game. Idk why Smith isn't captain tho.
