Just took him out for Robbie Gray. Port's draw very enticing. I hope it doesn't backfire

Good call Selwood is/does look very underdone for his lofty standards, he'll get better week by week.

Haha see I saw him do lots and saw Bartel do bugger all ... It's funny seeing people have different opinions

BomberSam

Yeah, I saw Selwood do heaps for just 105, and conversely, Bartel little for 88. I guess Bartel did a lot of things that are rewarded highly, long kicks to contests, marks from opposition kicks, etc.

Grufflez

Mate, Selwood's possessions were mostly very average i thought, lucky to top 100.
Bartel might have even scored a few more points had it not been for that knee in the head.

ronl

Yea.  I thought Selwood's fourth quarter was outstanding, if only from a leadership pov.  I feel he really dragged the cats over the line by leading the way...with his chin, more often than not.

This guy pretty much had no pre-season, one practice match where he ripped it up then his first AFL game against the reigning premier's & scores 105 due to his mainly impact on the game without getting Dangerfield like possession counts - His only going to get better, glad i picked him & happy with his 105.

WizzFizz

youd expect a few more touches tackles marks and maybe a goal every week so I only see upside

You guys are all kind of pointing out the obvious, everybody knows about Selwood's preseason & no one is doubting his abilities but was it a better idea to make him an upgrade target so that he might get a few games under his belt (while scoring 105's) and start someone like Robbie Gray with Port's easy draw in the first half of the year, yes, yes it was.

But by God i am loving the look of our Midfield this year and Scooter to come in later  ;)
Really liked Zac Smiths efforts outside of the ruck also.

no it wasnt.

first up selwood is 30k cheaper.

Gray outscored him week 1 against Stkilda.

Selwood was playing the 3 time champs.

Geelong have GWS Brissy Essendon coming up. I expect some good scores and selwood could easily beat gray over the next 3 weeks.

That does seem like a pretty easy run i'll grant you that, will help his chances of going big.
