I've got Robbo in there atm for a bit of a pod but would rather Dahl, just can't find 60k I'm willing to get from somewhere

I'd like to pick Montagna, but just don't feel comfortable forking out that much dough.

Think most will have three of these Dusty, Dahl, Barlow, Buddy and Lids.

This is what I'm trying to avoid, most forward lines are looking pretty similar! Especially once you throw in Wells, Petracca and Kerridge.

they are pretty much the best options though. no point being different for the sake of it.

if these guys go well (as they should) then you fall behind.

going 3 premos v 4 premos will make a huge difference

Like most above I have Dusty and Barlow and the 3rd premo will likely be Lids or a POD - I hope I can find the cash for lids

Dunno why you'd bother with a POD up forward, Dusty, Lids, Barlow, Dahl, Buddy are all great selections with each of them having their own pro's and con's, but definitely head and shoulders above much of the other fwd selections who all have very big question marks surrounding them. if I was to choose a POD, it'd be in defence and in the middle. Currently have Boyd in defence, and Robbie Gray in my midfield, everything else is pretty standard.

Seems like most people are starting 3 prem forwards? I've got 4, but I'm going weak down back instead

Lids, Dusty, Barlow and Buddy at the moment.

Agree with wato - if you want a POD get a proven POD in the mids like Gray, JPK etc etc

I'm not rolling the dice on all these dubious prem forwards getting thrown around as suggestions

Wells at F4 is too exposed with 2 playing rookies so he's at F5 for me. So it's a premium at F4 or a second mid-pricer - one of the easier decisions to make  8)

Depends entirely on how many decent rookies are available up forward. If there are a lot of good scoring forward rookies then Wells at F4 would be fine.

Do you think a defence with two or more playing rookies would also be too exposed?

Agree with Ben here and the question asked.  It depends a lot on the team structure you decide on.  Wells at F4 for me allows me to start JPK in the mids.  Think that is more advantageous to me scoring wise than a F$ mid pricer who will probably only go 85-95.  Wells is flying and will go 90+ whilst fit.  Will gladly take JPK 115 + say 90 for Wells v Orem Fwd 90 = rookie/medium priced mid at 90 as well.

Brett Deledio will not play the first two pre-season matches but is expected to play in the third NAB Challenge game as the club manages his persistent Achilles problems.
"With the limited preparation we have [with Deledio] it's always going to be a management issue from years previous," Hardwick said.

I already knew this but seeing it in writing makes me really doubt my Lids pick, if he could go 18 games @110 I would be happy but if that drops to something like 105 from 16 it could start to hurt

Might go, Lids + Emac + Crouch ->Buddy + Rookie + Fyfe/Danger

he is a good pick but Martin i reckon will match him with less injury risk and cheaper.

Buddy is underpriced and should go big

barlow also underpriced.

have these 3 ahead of him and i think 3 premos is enough.

going pricey in the mids, can pick up Slaoen for 570k so seems silly to get lids over that.

Dusty, Dahl, Barlow and Buddy for me. Im back on the Buddy train! Bennell would be fantastic, but the only thing stopping me from picking him previously has been his body/calves. Doesn't seem like much has changed. Will keep a close eye on Greene. Deledio and Montagna will be upgrade targets.

Running 3 premos but considering 4 as i cant split Wingard/Buddy
