Profile:

After moving North to Brisbane at the end of 2014, Beams took a few weeks to settle in at the start of the 2015 season. For the first 4 rounds, he averaged a sub-par 100.25ppg, making people wonder if perhaps his move to Brisbane wasn't going to end well for his fantasy career. But after that first month, he went 100+ for the next 10 games with an average of 122.1ppg, making him one of the highest scoring players in the league during that period. Unfortunately, he injured his shoulder after that 2 month stretch, and only managed scores of 89 and 97, with a missed game in between, before going in for surgery and thus ending his season.

Even with him only playing 16 games, Beams still managed to be a joint winner of the Merrett-Murray Medal as the Lions Best and Fairest in 2015, being a vital player in that midfield, and if he can remain fit in 2016, should be in for a big year.

Pros:

Proven elite scorer (and has gone 120+ before)

Slightly under-priced

Captain material

Cons:

Could be injury prone

Have barely seen Beams and Rocky both 100% fit and playing together, so question marks on whether they can both score at an elite level together

Prediction:

Just looking at those 10 straight weeks of 100+ scores, it's hard not to be tempted by Beams. The only real question marks for me is his fitness, as I believe even with Rocky fit and firing, Beams should still score just as well, as he did at the Pies with Pendles, Swan, and Sidebottom in the side. If he does remain fit, I would be expecting an average somewhere between 115 and 120. Might be hard to find a place for him to start with, but if you're going with 6 premium mids to start off with, would be a great option!

Great write up.   Big Beams fan and can definitely see him getting back to 115-120 for season.   Not able to fit him in at the moment but for me will be an upgrade target if he starts slow again.

Keen on Beams with a R15 bye, and this profile write-up had made me more so, likely to see him at some point or other throughout next season.

To me the fact that Rocky is a lock to start the year I will be steering away from starting him, I try to only go 1 Premo from any given team on any given line to start the year, as allows for a second spot as a rookie if one rears their head.
Possible upgrade option in the mids though.

Will be a popular selection next year no doubt
