Played around with the rules for this and this is what I've come up with
FA will replace the mid season draft if voted in.
Coaches in DT America's are quite active and with us having the Allstars v USA comp during the bye, this will keep coaches active during the bye period enough for us not to need a mid season draft.

-All remaining players on AFL lists that are not affiliated with an DT America's franchise are classified as “Free Agents” and are eligible to be signed to teams provided this does not exceed the list cap of 54 players at any time

-A team must delist a player if they wish to sign a free agent and their playing list sits at 54

-Free Agency will start at the end of round 4 and runs until Lockout for Round 13

-Waiver period from Sunday night(Time to be decided) an ends Tuesday night(Time to be decided)

-During waiver period coaches can acquire a FA player,if more than one coach wants a player then lowest on the ladder after that weeks results will receive the player.

-Once it's lockout then FA will be locked until Sunday night.

-Coaches are allowed only 5 FA movements during the set time period

-All players acquired via FA will be contracted until a date to be decided at seasons end

-Any player acquired via FA cannot be traded or delisted during the contracted time period

-Any player delisted by a team cannot be relisted by that team until after the contracted period ends for FA

-Once you have delisted a player they become a free agent and are available for any other team to pick up as a free agent

-During the off season FA will be closed until after drafting has been completed

-FA will open again during the off season for a period after the preseason matches, waivers will apply during this period dates will be announced

Example of how to post

Roswell
Delist: Luke Delaney
Sign: Zac Dawson

-All delistings and signing will be kept track of in the threads op and the free agent list would be kept up to date as well.

We will do a vote via pm after New Years but for now you can give opinions and make some more suggestions for rules.
Have experienced free agency in another offsite comp and can safely say it works very well and also keeps everyone having all players available especially when you have unexpected retirements during the season and even season ending injuries.

All free agents would still be available to draft in the rookie draft each season as per usual.

Please keep the discussion to the topic, any other things can be discussed in the general discussion thread.
