Hey everyone!

I am looking at Trading Hartley to Tucker this week and then upgrading kerridge to a defender by switching tippa back FWD. I have enough to get any defender however I am strongly considering getting Bartel this week. Thoughts on this?

hasn't been under 93 in the past 5 weeks and the lowest BE out of the guys around the 500-550k. Would leave me with $109k in the bank for the next upgrade after the byes. I am leaning against Docherty just because of his price.

my current backline is: Shaw, Rance, Gibson, Smith, Tippa, Byrne Jones (harltey & Ruggles)

Any thoughts would be great!
Bartel is solid. Theres also Pittard (who some people have their opinions about) and Boyd (might have scoring issues with the rest of the backline back)

I have Jimmy and bar his first month or so he's been fantastic. I'd watch for resting between his bye and the AFL finals but aside from that you can't really go wrong with him. He's got a license to roam by the looks of it.

I guess I am just wanting to get everyone's thoughts on going bartel over Docherty?

I know the scoring is a bit of a difference however I can bank 109K for the next upgrade which will help.

I'd love to have Docherty, but geez what is he now? 585k? No way I'd pay that for him when most gun mids who will score more cost the same or less

that's a very valid point RD!

I think I will go with Jimmy!

How are we now feeling about Jasper Pittard? Think he could be a great buy at 450k.

He's scored incredibly consistency, only had one game below 80 points which is quite impressive. Even a few weeks ago against the Eagles he had no touches in the first quarter, yet finished on 84 :o.

He's also leading the league in metres gained and is 4th overall for total kicks.

Deciding between him and McVeigh for my last defender. Both are in around the same amount of teams at the moment, but feel as though Pittard will be more of POD as the season rolls on.

He is just under that top tier of premium backs, if your D1-D4 are the best he could go ok at D5 or 6.
Id rather pay a tad more for Gibson or Laird.

When you think that you can pick up Hanners, Neale etc for only $30-40k more expensive than Docherty at the moment heis a big no go for me. Defenders are always like this.. They pop up, have 3-5 great weeks where they average 100-110 and then they fall away. One of my number one rules is not to pick up a defender for over $500k. Exception being Shaw of course. The top scoring backs this year - Boyd, Rance, Bartel, Simpson, Docherty, Laird, McVeigh etc have all dipped below $500k some below $450k.. If you can pick the scoring run then good work, however if you're just chasing points like in Dochertys case then your chasing your tail and paying top dollar for a guy that's already his big scoring run

Good post. Logical. Accurate. Almost inspiring - ok maybe not that but still a good read.

Anyone considering Jeremy Howe?

I remember he didnt have much of a preseason due to injury, and started off slowly in his first 3 games.

Since then he has 5 consecutive tons, and a 5 round average of 110+

Thoughts?

no he is more expensive then proven premos. If he was 400k I would have a look.

Is Marley Williams back this week? Could impact his scoring.
