Anyone interested in Jamie Macmillan? Solid and looms to have upside

Samm79

Rance, Laird, Bartel, Smith, Dea, Broad, R, R. A risk or two there and was toying with the mid price structure but have gone away from it, think it'll bite some hard...

had him in my team but restructured my backline so had to offload him. Huge POD as well

TexR74

I've gone Shaw Laird Johanisen Harwood and then Rookies obviously subject to change, thoughts?

I know it's only NAB but I'm looking at some PODs as I have a very cookie cutter team at the moment, and Suckling sticks out at 90 and 97 from two runs, for a def priced at 75... Bit awkward because his career average isn't much better than that and his best year is a 90 with the hawks, but anyone thinking he could be worth a punt at the dogs? Got 430k to spend on D3, unless I downgrade Shaw... Bartel at D2.

Will be the same as the Hawks, up and down.

Looking at the DEF rookie averages over the NAB, I've decided to stack up on DEF premos and keep the cheap rookies hidden on the benches. Went from 1 premo 2 mid 5 rooks, to 4 premos 4 rooks.

These are the numbers that worry me about playing DEF rookies on field:
Dea - 96.5
Weitering - 81.5
Hartley - 78.3
Collins - 67.0
Broad - 66.5
Whitecross - 63.5
Ruggles - 62.5
McD-Tippa - 62.3
Adams - 60.7
Brown - 54.3

How far down that list do you go before they become a bench only rookie?

I'm a bit worried about Suckling, JJ, Murphy, and Boyd sharing points.

Love a good POD mate, I'm looking at D.Rampe pretty closely...

Suckling is the interesting one. He has normally been pretty consistent in terms of SC vs DT points. Last year his SC was way down on his DT and he got dropped for butchering the ball. Taking out his two sub games last year, the average in both comps jumps to the following

DT - 83.12

SC - 75.89

So it's about a 2-3ppg jump. So he is priced at about 73 but if he is to average close to his DT he will be averaging around 83 making him 10 points under priced. I'm thinking I would prefer him to Birchall but he is too pricey at about 400k for his expected output unless he goes back to 90+ which has only been a once off.

Anybody considering Zach Tuohy, doesn't seem to miss games, seems on an upward spiral and should see a plethura of pill in the Carlton backline.

Mat0369

Zach spiked when Barker took over last year. He actually played really well from that point on and played the best footy since 2012. He is one of the better kicks in the side in terms of hitting a target so he should have good DE%.

Having said that, he only averaged 83 in that time frame and is priced at 79. You also have Simmo and Docherty down there who give you more run and carry and while Tuohy is a great kick, he doesn't always make the best decision with ball in hand. Where he is best used is actually running through and hitting the scoreboard off the back flank and kicking the ball into play.

Love your insights into anything Carlton, thank you Mat.

Games is super reliable and if he goes 83-87 I will be stoked. Top ten DEFS are lucky to go 90, so I will take a punt with him.

Josh Gibson anyone?

Will average over 90 and went 142, 85, 145 in NAB. Will play loose/zoning defender all year.

Had him last year and was reasonably pleased. Ball will be down there a bit more this year I think, as silly as that sounds, meaning more points for him to score.

Anyone else??

Plus, is Dea good for D5? Didn't watch him in NAB but he looked ok. Is he safe for 70+ each week?
