This might sound a little odd, but what about the old pair of undies Reg Grundy?

With Shaw gone he looks to be going back to his former years and scoring quite well

Only missed 3 games in 7 years which is ridiculous too

what do you think mcgovern can average? hes very injury prone but can score well
Can get near 100, likely 90ish if injury free again

Holz

Heath grundy flying maybe he gets rebound role

Thoughts on Seedsman? Didn't see the game but has he replaced Smith's role now that Smith looks to get more mid time?

Seedsman and Laird were not scoring well over the first 3 quarters, so it feels like a junk time special to me?  I didn't get to see the final quarter though, anyone get to see it?  Laird was worrying me, but then surprised to see his final score.

Seedsman will average more then B Smith

Smith looked to have his usual role of half back, while Seedsman played predominantly on a wing. Can't see Smith spending to much time in the midfield.

Does anybody know if a certain Carlton player will be playing forward from now on or will he get to play in defence again?

Walker played forward last night. Put a line through him

Put a line through Aish too (For those who have him) He hasn't got a run so far today

Tempted to go Shaw/Mcveigh at D1 then fill D2 to D5 with Sheridan, Lonergan, Harwood, Emac, Seedsman, etc. and start one rookie on the field. Pros are I won't have to commit to sketchy "premiums" or risky rookies. Cons are that this could easily blow up in my face. Thoughts?

I like it southstorm, but I'm personally not sold on harwood - final call to be made after this weekend, though.

My current backline is looking like:

Shaw, KK, Sheridan, Lonergan, brown, hartley (broad, adams (likely to be gone after today))

I think most teams will have at least 2 of those mid priced backs, but having one of them at d2 is a bit risky for me...thats where I think it will blow up in your face

RaisyDaisy

Call me old fashioned, but I am avoiding all of the defensive mid priced players

GnR for me, which in itself is looking quite unique this year but I like it, and hope to avoid all of these speculative mid price options that in most cases fail to pay off

Good in theory but the playing rookies with the best scoring potential are all very close in price to the mid price options. Weitering has 30% ownership but I'd back Harwood to outscore him by 15 points and there's a chance Harwood nails down D6, ditto Seedsman. Collins looks like he'll struggle to make more than 130k and that could take some time, worse still if you have to field him. Broad may be named in round 1 but Yaz comes back in rounds 3-6, may not get too many price rises, Marcus Adams looks ok but JS not assured and many will have him in the forwards. At this stage I think it might be 2 guns for me, 2 mid pricers probably Harwood & Seedsman and a bench with potentially Whitecross if he puts in a good final game.
