what are we thinking with Brodie Smith..

everyone was on him now most are off.

im still keen.

I'm still keen too Holz. Nobody in that $250-$450k range I like at all (that's all I have to spend) apart from Smith (yes Williams and Sheridan and others etc but no thanks). Smith has gone 94 before and can crack another top 6 berth again I believe. He has the talent. Last year everything that could've gone wrong did. I'm backing him to play well once again. Look at his last few scored of last year minus the Geelong game where he got that in just over a quarter, and the Hawks game where they got pantsed. The form was coming back to him.

144 117 87 60 45 73 for a 88 average to start the season this is no injuries

really struggled in the middle of the season

last 5 games 97 76 108 126 43 (in a 1/4 and abit)

certinaly up and down though if you look at the first 6 and also in the finals went 104 then 44

they year before it was the same

6 120+ scores with a high of 144
9 100+ scores
8 sub 80 scores
3 sub 60 scores with a low of 32
Think most are concerned with Adelaides opening draw for both Sloane and Brodie

And the impact Seedsman will have on his scores on the wing.

Its a no for me as I prefer Laird over him.

Smith + $90k v Laird

Smith for me

Smith for me

85 point Per Week +90k vs 95 points Per Week

Al depends what you think Smith & Laird will average and where you can use the extra cash.

In no way are either bad options

It's already been said that Smith will be playing more off half back again and Seedsman will be on the wing, I doubt it will have much of an affect

Not everything that is said is true though. Smith played on the wing and Laird played of the HBF so far over NAB.

I'm thinking of bring in Tommy Sheridan. If you excude his sub game he averaged 91 in his last 8 games last year and has looked very good this preseason.
Peoples thoughts?

Lots have hopped on the wagon.  The only real issue is his upside.  90 is probably about the max you can expect from him, which makes him a good candidate as a long term D6 option.  I just wouldn't have him along with another mid-pricer who you think can average 90 because you'll start to leak points after the byes (when people have stronger D5/D6s).

eaglesman

I have shaw rance and laird then brown Hartley tippa on field (then praying for a rookie to show up)

Some suggestions on Facebook that Tom ruggles could be a starter now that thurlow is gone ????
Any thoughts on this

8 games don't make a player. His marks skyrocketed in those 8 games, but had very few contested possessions or marks. If he starts having an impact teams might start to put some work and make him work for his possessions.

would you feel more comfortable with Bartel instead of Shaw and then Weits instead of a rookie.

Not sure on bartel - I know he has the scoring history though

I like Sheridan. If he plays that rebound role, he will be a good pick. I think we will play that rebound role.

I would think Jake Kolo would have the spot. Similar to Thurlow. But I'm no Geelong expert. Both are good Tassie boys though.

If my memory serves me correctly both were in our best 22 by the end of last year, Ruggles Killed it in the vfl and deserves his shot

Thurlow was pretty regular because Kelly was out injured. No Kelly which means he would have been firmly entrenched in the 22. With Rivers out and Hendo in it seems like an automatic swap, I don't think Jake Kolo played with River, Taylor and Lonergan in the same team, so I am assuming he would be contending for a spot as a tall defender. Enright, Mackie and someone else would play as the rebounding defenders.
