Yeah this has got me a little worried. Starting to look at ways of starting Shaw. Yes he is very expensive but I really have no confidence in many of the "premo" defenders.

+ 1 Can not really see him being rested in the first 7/10 matches so will be starting with him as you know what you get and with McVeigh still doubtful for Rd 1 only Simpson and Bartel really inspire me as possible top 5 defenders.

Couldn't find the thread about defenders but who is the best pick for D3...?

Been swapping and changing KK and Jimmy Bartel but not sold on either at the moment, I have already got Simmo and Birchall with Emack, Brown from Ess and Broad.

I was looking at Gibbo, Houli, Rance even Yeo but yeah don't know who to put in there at the moment, I have $525,300 to spend

Yep Bartel will be superconsistent and so long as you have cover for the one or 2 games he will be rested.  Will be in the Top 5 defenders imo so should be ideal to Start with,
