Is anyone not starting one of Shaw, McVeigh or Boyd?

Usually I like to start one the top tiered defenders, but with McVeigh having a poor preseason, Heater costing a lot and Boyd getting on is there a legitimate case to not start any of these? Would we fall behind by not?

Feels wrong not having one of them at D1  :-\

Me, would have had McVeigh if not for interruptions. Shaw was last years man and could just as easy go back to a 95-100/18-19 game ave.
Doggies rest Boyd when they fly will miss another 3-5 games, could start well though with Dogs first 7 at Etihad.

I am not either for reasons McVeigh recovering from injury and will be underdone nice upgrade target. Shaw was allowed to roam last year and if Giants are pushing top 8 teams may play a lot tighter on him restricting his scoring and this may result in a possible brain fade again. Boyd misses too many games for my liking. Although with Boyds first 8 games at Etihad or MCG may make me relook at him for an upgrade/swap

RaisyDaisy

Yeah I've  had McVeigh locked at D1 all preseason, but am now thinking I should drop him and look at him as an upgrade target

Considering TMac for a POD, but will make the call after I've seen NAB

LordSneeze

Yeah im not starting any of them.

At the moment I don't have any of them either, does feel a bit weird I'll admit!

Defence has always been something I fudge up at the start of the season, spending way to much on the top premiums just to have them all drop in price (thanks Malceski).

This year I think I'll go cheaper in defence to help strengthen other lines, but also because there's plenty of cheaper guys that could easily average 90+.

Simpson, KK, Bartel, Yeo, Smith is what I'm looking at currently.

None of the three for me either mate and it does feel a bit strange but there are plenty in the same boat by the sound of things.

I will be looking to bring both McVeigh and Shaw in as upgrade targets. I think Boyd will be rested too often to warrant picking him this year.

RaisyDaisy

Good to hear I'm not alone then!

Agree Ben, I have not even considered Boyd once - doesn't interest me, but I will look to bring in Shaw and McVeigh as the season goes on

sammy123

i may start shaw. then go cheaper. but need to see prices tomorrow

auscoyote

I'm leaving out all 3 too.

Have Simpson lining up at D1.

Peter

I believe taking 3 of next tier of defenders frees up money to pay for decent rookies that will play and increase in price is better than spending big money on those three and then desperately trying to find cheap playing rookies at the last minute

fasttrack13

Shaw is like gray of last year for me... If you can get him without loosing points then do it if you don't like the. Trust your gut

same plan.    may consider simpson, also see docherty as a potential top 6 def.

TexR74

Is doedee a good def rookie pick?

enzedder

Won't have Boyd. Some chance I may start one of Shaw or McVeigh....some chance none of the 3. Have played around with many combinations.
