interesting could be a couple Crows defenders wanting to be traded next year

crowls

Of the over 500K only willing to have one in my team at the moment that is McVeigh as he is most likely to avg 100+ for season.

Shaw is bad value for the first round.   With the others more likely to see improvers such as KK Yeo Smith head up to 90+  Hibberd has to be good chance to return to 90+ as well.   Be very surprised to see Malceski return to a SC friendly role at GCS so he is definitely out of my consideration.      Aish, Harwood, McKenzie are all midpricers worth a thought.    The rest rookies.

What are people's thoughts on Laird? I like him as a pod but will He's role change at all with Seedsman, Hampton, Smith, Jaensch and Hendo all playing similar roles?

That's the one thing that's turning me off the Crows defenders, even if there's a few bargains to be had.

Their back 6 at the end of last year seemed pretty settled, then Jaensch has to come back in, with spots for Seedsman and Hampton up for grabs. Perhaps Jaensch plays forward? You'd assume Smith would take up a full time roll on the wing?

Have to wait for the NAB Challenge to see where all these pieces fit in.

Unless the coach is an out right liar he has stated B Smiths best position is off of half-back  ( where he made All-Australian) and speculation is that Seedsman will deliver pace off the wing (if in the 22) sounds right to me.

Anyone on the yaz?

He lost me 50K maybe this time he makes it back to me. Could go 85+ easy if on

He could well have a spike year depending on role if he is happy at Richmond and actually cares...
But his past attitude at Carlton worries me.
I have rarely seen consistency over 4 quarters in a stretch of games from him.

This for McVeigh.

Rocket will be building the Suns defense around the run, carry and long-kicking of KK.  At this stage happy to go with him, McVeigh, Smith and either Bartel , Simpson or Yeo.

 :)

Really good subject RD. About an hour ago I tried picking a complete team arse about, low to high. Picked players with the lowest prices that I thought would play and who might score reasonably well. And that was very, very hard to do in defence. The only one I came up with under 200k was Mitch Brown.  Really hanging out big time for the NAB because if some good rookie defenders don't pop up I'm going to have to change my team structure substantially. And I really like my team as it is.  As I said, great subject. Cheers.     ;)

Got Bartel and Smith basically locked in

Will probably go with one of McVeigh, Simmo, Birchall, Hurn, Rance

Then, pending pre-season and round 1 teams, guys like Harwood and Emac

That's the guy I upgraded Jaensch too for the minute but I am considering downgrading him to Harwood and going real cheap in defense. Something like Bartel/Smith/Harwood/Aish/Brown/Brown/random rookie and one of Mullett/Whitecross. It allows me to move Jed Anderson into the forward line and upgrade the tin man Wells to Parker which I like a lot.

Me too. Atm my defence looks like Bartel, smith, seedsman, harwood, Mckenzie, brown. Very cheap but actually no rookies starting in field and allows me to see who looks the best out of the kk/Macmillan/Doherty types and hopefully get shaw/mcveigh cheaper.

Gigantor

I'm not entirely convinced with West Coast Brown, Nathan Brown was a 100% lock in the Pies 22 where I think Mitch will be dropped some weeks for team structure.

Also he scores slightly worse than his brother (if that's even possible :P )

But on the other hand the Eagles new defensive style could lead to more intercept marks and rebound kicks and he could average 60 :) Only three months to go haha

I'll still pick him if the rookie cupboard is bare come round one but he isn't a lock like Nathan was

Mat0369

If I pick him it is as an expensive D8 that is dirt cheap with relatively ok job security. I kind of expect McGovern to push forward and be a swing man when Mackenzie and Brown return and for them to hold down the two key posts.

I think it'll be a case of if named r1, he's in. If not, he's out.

What are people's thoughts on Harry Taylor? With all the new guys coming in (Danger, Selwood, Henderson) I see him being able to play a more attacking role knowing people will be able to support him.

Just want to know what everyone else's thoughts are on him.
I see him going 90-95 at this stage!
