Hodge paid 10 demerits, a fine to the Hawks and a fine to Victoria police. Hardly getting off. Martin so far hasn't paid anything.

ok fine him then.

Hodge was found guilty though of a criminal act and charged $450.

Martin was guilty of nothing so given Hodge was fined $5,000. then martin should get fined less then that.

lets move on.

To my understanding that is more of a technicality.

If someone feels threatened by someone than it is considered assault. It does not matter if they should be or not, but the judge decides how server it is.

If I'm not mistaken the woman has not given a statement. This means the police cannot charge for assault because the only evidence of her feeling threatened. If she gave a statement than there would be a strong case.

While I am not advocating a club based suspension, I think this sort of episode usually results in one.

As Richmond have not yet meted out a penalty makes me think he may escape a games ban, but not sure what if anything is yet to come?

Right now I don't have him in at F1, but there is still plenty of time to change my tune.

Back to the numbers.  Primed to have his best season and expecting 108-115 avg.    If starts will be in my team or an early upgrade.    fwd 1-2 for 2016.

still want to see him docked games though and comparison to hodge is not relevant.  stuff the afl  this is richmond matter and they should take care of it.
I don't see where he will gain up to 10 points from myself. I see the interchange cap reduction potentially hurting him more than helping him, he doesn't have the biggest tank going around. Going into his 7th season, same coach, game plan, etc, see him in the 95-105 bracket myself. Upgrade for me after a couple of quite games.

He's entering his prime and playing more and more midfield as the years go on. The interchange won't hurt him, he is a goal kicker so will rest forward and kick goals

In the tigers games I've watched he already spends a large amount of time fwd, so I don't see this being an area that will improve his average. I've had him every year of his career, but this year I think I won't start him. I clearly remember how bad he was against Carlton twice last year and the bombers toward the end of the year, not to mention his elim final. The tigers have a tough little run from rd6 to rd11, so I'll look to trade him in after his bye I think.

Played far less forward in 2015 than any other year. Was actually surprised he kept DPP.
The game against Essendon was pouring rain all game but yes he has a history of poor scoring against Carlton.

Personally I just think he is the #1 must have forward. Can understand arguments not to start Deledio and Montagna as their prices are at a premium but Martin is a fair price and IMO garunteed to be a top 5 forward

Fair enough, I still think I'll hold off and see if I can get him for around $500k after his bye. The MN will obviously have increased by then, plus with their draw I think it's possible. Agree that this would be a better plan for lids tho, so who knows... I really want to take a punt on rioli this year tho, and he, spuddy and Barlow are taking martin's spot atm.

RaisyDaisy

I'm starting him because i don't like many other options and know he is a lock for top 5, but I reckon 110+ is pretty wishful

105 or so is my guess, and that's still an easy choice to start pending he lines up rd1

quinny88

His fitness gets questioned a lot but the fact that he's only missed 4 games in his 6 years in the game is a massive bonus.
