DEF: McVeigh (MID), K Kolodjashnij, Bartel (MID), Yeo (MID), B Smith (MID), M Brown (FWD) (Broad, Bonner)

MID: Pendlebury, Ablett, Rockliff, Wines, Liberatore, B Crouch, Petracca (FWD), Kerridge (MID), Morabito (Freeman, Keays, Hibberd (DEF))

RUC: Goldstein, S Martin (King (FWD))

FWD: D Martin (FWD), Barlow (MID), Bird (MID), Leuenberger (RUC), Petracca (MID), Adams (DEF) (Yarran, Payne (MID))

Just a few subtle changes which I think have strengthened my team

OUT: Rich, Sloane, J Selwood, Greene, Naitanui
IN: K Kolodjashnij, Pendlebury, Wines, Crouch, S Martin

The Bombers have said that Bird will be playing through the midfield and off half back this year so I think he will average enough to be a keeper. He is a ball magnet when unleashed.

The rest of the picks speak for themselves.

Rookies are all placeholders for now so please don't comment on them.

Thoughts?

Looks good mate. Bit on uncertainty in the backline. But thats the kind of year its going to be with limited consistent premo options.

What are you expecting from Wines this year, average wise?

I'm expecting at least a 110 average from Wines if he can stay injury free.

Definitely achievable. Average 100 in his second year 2 seasons back. Priced at 97 this year, so could definitely be considered under valued.

Rating him over Selwood and Sloane then i take it?

Yeah I prefer Wines.

I do like both the Sloane and Selwood picks and think they're underpriced.
I worry about how Sloane will go with the extra attention from opposition now that Danger has gone and Selwood's foot injury plus his tendency to have a big dip in scoring at some stage worry me.

My preference at this stage is to wait and see with both Selwood and Sloane.

Yeah all 3 under priced for sure. The Unfit selwood worries me, as with the inclusion of Danger too. Links it to Sloane as well, missing danger, we really dont know how he will handle the attention/ what extra attention he will get. Too much uncertainty here, and i dont like uncertainty.

Wines would be safest of all 3 picks for sure. Bit cheaper too!

fasttrack13

only concern about wines is if he doesn't go to 110 that he averages 100-105 which crouch probably will and libba may if he is cautious about his knee... that leaves you with 3 guys who really should be loopholed at M8 and your having to field 2 of them each week which could loose you points.

saying that i like wines hes almost getting a look into  my team!

Peter

Also Petracca going to be busy playing mid and fwd, if gets on park at all at the start

Updated team with the news that Leuey is having achilles issues.

DEF: Laird/Simpson, K Kolodjashnij, Bartel (MID), Yeo (MID), B Smith (MID), M Brown (FWD) (Broad, Bonner)

MID: Ablett, J Selwood, Rockliff, Wines, Liberatore, B Crouch, Kerridge (MID), Morabito (Freeman, Keays, Hibberd (DEF))

RUC: Goldstein, Naitanui (King (FWD))

FWD: D Martin (FWD), Barlow (MID), Z Merrett (MID), Bird (MID), Petracca (MID), Adams (DEF) (Ahern (MID), Yarran)

All players picked in this team are assuming they will play at least one NAB Challenge game, be injury free and play round 1. For example, Selwood.

So I have traded out 3 keepers and a midpricer for 4 keepers

OUT: McVeigh, Pendles, S Martin, Leuenberger
IN: Laird/Simpson, J Selwood, Naitanui, Z Merrett

Thoughts on this team and also Laird v Simpson?

Where did you hear that Luey was having achillies issues?
I love the Laird pick. Feel he's on the way up, whereas with Simpson you know exactly what you're going to get. He'll average low 90's like he has for the last few years. I feel Laird has scope to increase his output.

The biggest issue I see is that you have 12 midfielders.

Haha. Oops!

Two Petracca's is wishful thinking on my part. Changed the post now.

Would go laird+simmo drop KK.

People are saying that he will get more points now that the suns players are back but i don't see it... He didnt cop any attention last year and wont again this year so there wont be an increase of scoring because of that. Gaz, Prestia, Swallow, O'Meara, Martin all taking possessions off him even malceski will get used to playing in the suns set up and he will be more of a go too man than KK.

Love the midfield and ruck. Forwards a v solid also

ben_020285

My team post the Essendon suspensions:

DEF: McVeigh, Simpson, Bartel (MID), Yeo (MID), B Smith (MID), M Brown (FWD) (Hartley, Bonner)

MID: Pendlebury, Ablett, Rockliff, Wines, Liberatore, B Crouch, Kerridge (MID), Morabito (Freeman, Keays, Hibberd (DEF))

RUC: Naitanui, Lobbe (King (FWD))

FWD: D Martin (MID), Dahlhaus (MID), Barlow (MID), Z Merrett (MID), Petracca (MID), Kommer (Payne (MID), Adams (DEF))

By bringing in Lobbe for Goldy I've been able to upgrade KK to McVeigh, Selwood to Pendlebury and Bird to Dahlhaus.

Lobbe and Crouch are both picked as stepping stones while the rest are being picked as keepers aside from the rookie priced players.

Rookies are just placeholders for now so please don't comment on them.

Thoughts?

PiPies

Different structure to mine, defence looks strong but wondering what the plan is there? Just one upgrade to Shaw to finish the defence?

Mids look solid

Considering similar set up in the rucks myself. Just can't decide to Lobbe or not to Lobbe yet. Hoping he plays a couple of NAB games to have a look at him. No ruck cover? Considering no ruck cover myself, Luey or Bird at F4 NAB games will decide that for me.

Forwards look strong. Considered Merret myself just not sure how he will go with so many out, again NAB games will sort that out.

Two upgrades to come in defence. I always end up with a keeper at D7.

Chances are at least one of the starting players in my defence will get injured and need to be traded out as well so probably at least three new keepers by the end of the season.
