Still not set on the backline.. would love to start with 5 premos that will be up there at the end of the year. Might change hibberd into a Shaw or something.

Midfields pretty standard at this time. Just have to wait for NAB cup to see how all the players returning from injury go

Gone for something different in the ruck with no DPP link. Dont want to start 2 premo rucks and their arent many other cheap ruckman that have potential.

Forward line im tossing up Lids with bennell as well.. Greene is a risk, almost started him this year at 550k (thank god i didnt) so for his price and position he could kill it!

A lot of people are starting Leuenberger or Sinclair in the forwards, having a DPP ruck/forward at R3 and a second premium ruck at R2, could be something to consider.

Defs have considered it! im literally just hoping that goldy falls 100K and burgur starts out relatively well.
Dont really want to spend 400k on sinclair who isnt really that great and it coming up against Grundy, Kruz, Mummy, Jacobs, Nicnat and SMartin in his first 6 games

Still considering 2 gun rucks and having Burger as f4 to start with though!

I agree with these comments. What I don't understand though, is if hoping to eventually get Goldy, what is the logic behind running a set and forget combo?

Have you heard anything about Conca? could go Lids to Conca/Menzel/Daisy and then Omeara to Fyfe

I agree with these comments. What I don't understand though, is if hoping to eventually get Goldy, what is the logic behind running a set and forget combo?

The issue for me is that Goldy and Martin have the same bye. Personally i think martin will kill it and Goldy will drop off a bit, hence why im starting martin. Only other rucks i have considered are nicnat and Jacobs. but i dont think they will make the top 2.

I wouldn't start all three of Libba, Crouch and JOM either. You have crammed your midfield with value there, but there is a bit of risk involved with each of them coming back from injury. Let's say all three average 85, a lot less than what we expect such guns to average... if you have all three, that is three under-performers you will need to clear from your team. I admit that I have Libba and Crouch at the moment but all three is just a bit much for me, considering JOM probably won't play round 1, it makes sense to get him out of your team. Try to turn him into a gun, because most teams I have seen have gone at least 6 deep in the midfield (some 7, including Libba and Crouch), so you really need to go at least 6 deep including Libba and Crouch, to ensure you aren't losing anything on those teams that start with 7 players capable of averaging 110+

Yeah i have the same thoughts exactly! I was thinking of downgrading Bartel to an Aish and then getting in Fyfe for Omeara
I think 6 deep is ideal. most of the value rookies are generally found in the midfield which is where you want your cash generation to come from

Would keep lids and dispose of barlow to someone cheaper then upgrade omeara.

Problem with waiting for Goldy to drop off (not so much Martin, unless he takes his game to another level this year like Goldy did last year) is that he's only ever going to fall as far as about $600k, which is generally a lot higher than what you'd want to trade premiums in at, so he can end up costing you three trades to get it done; two downgrades and the upgrade to Goldy. The other issue is that Goldy is captain material, so you're losing double points. To me, Goldy is as Ablett has been; you either start him or you spend the season regretting it.

I'd start Goldy over Martin every time.

Goldy isn't a must by any means. If you're happy to use a trade or two if need be if your find yourself losing points in the ruck, then that risk might be worth the reward

I could downgrade Lids and then upgrade Burger.. but i quite like burger at his price..

I more than likely wont start with him and will instead get fyfe and use him and ablett as the captains

Deledio to Goldstein via berger swing and downgrade wells to B.Kennedy or Aish to Mackenzie for that extra bit of cash.

IMO you gain points as goldy will average more than lids and the others will be pretty similar
