Hey all,

After a little research, this is my first draft. Will be interesting to see how much it changes before round 1.

D: McVeigh, Bartel, Smith, Malceski, Brown, MW. Brown (Byrne, Hibberd)
M: Fyfe, Ablett, Sloane, Shiel, Rockliff, Crouch, Mills, Kennedy (Freeman, Keays, Mathieson)
R: Martin, Sinclair (Read)
F: Bennell, S. Gray, Franklin, Leuenberger, Lamb, Kerridge (Petracca, Adams)

Mostly guns and rookies and I feel that it's a pretty well balanced side at the moment. I have a spare 160k and I'm not sure whether I should play around and try to load another premium or Libba/JOM type in my midfield or strengthen one of my def/fwd lines. Planned to start Goldy all along but now think that with Sinclair and Leuenberger (arguably) both number one rucks at their new clubs, I can use one as coverage in the forward line and upgrade the other to Goldy when he gets around the 600-630k mark.

Any feedback or suggestions on how I should use the spare cash?

would not hesitate banging mills to libba!

not sure about sinclair...
He has the ability to play as a forward and could be spending more time down there rotating with tippet which could hamper his points. However i haven't analysed Sydney enough to be 100% sure...
if you got S.Gray to barlow that would probably be a better option. Gray only got opportunities due to injuries so even if he is in their best 22 he will be restricted in the points scoring category.

Good team mate!

I would re shuffle the team to try and get Libba in. He could be a top 10-15 mid at 350k surely that's a lock?
Sinclair I'm not sure on either and would rather a more reliable option.
With Bennel, Dahlhous, Martin, Montagna and Lids on offer I think you could do better than Gray.
Would love your thoughts on my team as well mate!

Shiel to Libba
Sinclair to Goldy
Gray to lids

That would be something I would look at.

BomberSam

Thanks for the advice guys, I have changed things around a bit.

D: McVeigh, Bartel, Smith, Malceski, Bonner, MW. Brown (Byrne, Hibberd)

M: Fyfe, Ablett, Sloane, Shiel, Rockliff, Libba, Crouch, Freeman (Cuningham, Keays, Mathieson)

R: Martin, Leuenberger (Read)

F: Deledio, Dahlhaus, Barlow, Vardy, Lamb, Kerridge (Petracca, Adams)

Cash left: 35k

Thoughts on the updated team?

Regs81

I like this team.
only thing I would change is Barlow and lamb in the forwards, think you can get better picks with similar money..

Thanks mate! Would you rather go with Bennell over Barlow?

Are you able to suggest some better picks similarly priced to Barlow and Lamb?

They could easily become Buddy and Wells if both these guys are firing during NAB, but both picks have a degree of risk.

Regs81

firstly which lamb are you talking about>? If it's west coast, you should downgrade him to a cheap rookie then maybe upgrade barlow?

Jed Lamb, less than 200k and will get a good run with the blues. Is it worth downgrading him to a rookie?

Regs81

I would.. save yourself $50,000..

BomberSam

His team mate Sumner might be the go-to man in this situation...

Thanks mate.

Nice team would not change a lot,  Would only select one of Keays and Mathieson though as both would not get early games. with Brisbane
With rookies you will have to select those that play in round 1 especially in defence where you are relying on 2 playing each week.

Good advice, thanks Ringo. My rookies will change depending on who plays, I'll just make sure I have spare cash for some breathing space.

Not sure on Vardy personally but I'm sure you have your reasons for picking him. Like the team however.

I don't expect him to score well at all, but I know he is capable of putting up some decent scores which will be a bonus. He is basically the price of an expensive rookie, and with good job security and with the f/r dpp, he is the best option at this point in time. If come round 1, it looks like a bottom price f/r will play, I'll downgrade and use the cash elsewhere.

Here is the latest update (I have lots of spare time):

D: Bartel, Yeo, Smith, Malceski, MW. Brown, Bonner (Byrne, Hibberd)

M: Fyfe, Ablett, JPK, Sloane, Rockliff, Libba, Crouch, Freeman (Mathieson, Keays, Cuningham)

R: Nic Nat, Tippett (Read)

F: Deledio, Dahlhaus, Barlow, Leuenberger, Kerridge, Petracca (Sumner, Adams)

Cash left: 6.6k

Hoping Goldy drops to 600k so I can use Leuey or Tippett as a stepping stone to him. Hoping now that I can find a way to turn Nic Nat into big Stef Martin.

All feedback welcome, and appreciated.
