Dons

I think it's a little too risky to not go in with 1-2 super premiums, i.e Ablett, Fyfe, Pendes, Goldy, etc.  I preferred either of your previous 2 teams actually... I can't see Suckling or Adams being top 10-15 in their positions, nor can I see them making enough cash from their starting price to warrant trading them out. Maybe Suckling could be D6/7 materiel by years end, but really can't see Adams getting close to M8. I really like Parker and Wines as uniques myself, but see the same issue with them. Just my opinion tho, was wrong plenty last year too...

A few tweaks after the Essendon announcement.

Lots of POD selections in there!

No Ablett/Fyfe/Pendles in your midfield? I really like the JPK selection, not sure about Ebert but I am sure you have your reasons.

I am really interested in your ruck structure T Dog, are you able to explain your thoughts behind it please?

I like the Tippett choice! Had Sam Gray in my team earlier pre-season, but I am concerned he might not play the same role that saw him break out at the end of last season. Watch in NAB challenge.

Nothing too scientific about my rucks mate. Grundy is the No1 ruck at the Pies. Is young, fit and coming into his prime and will play 20+ games. Nicely priced. Gives me cash for starting Mills (if named). Lobbe just a better choice than Luey at this stage.

Going with Gray now that Monfries is out. Again a young kid who showed plenty last year. Worth a punt for 80+ at his price. Has DPP if I need to sneak him into M8 at any time.

Ebert just looks the goods to me. Port should have a good year. Again nicely priced and may just crack 95+

Thanks T Dog.

My only criticism is that I don't see the point in picking a premium midfielder if you hope him to score 95. You want your premium mid selections from the start to be in the top 10 mids by the end of the season. Ebert if he averages 95 like you hope him too, won't be anywhere near top 10. If he scores 105, he will still be far from top 10, but maybe a decent M8.

Wines is 4k more than ebert...
Personally only see 7 guys who will be keepers and top 10-15 in their position (top 5 for rucks)
Yeo, Kennedy, Sidey, Rocky, Libba, Dahl.
then plenty of 50/50's
smith, rich, mundy (IMO), Grundy, Gray, Merrett.

recommend doing a top 15 for each position and picking guys from those lists, because you need atleast 10 guys who are assured to be keepers barring injury.

The arrow keeps tripping me out  :'(

I look at this team and feel like something must be wrong.
Scrolling down from the Backs and Midfield I expected to see a weak Forward line with 6 x Daniel Wells, but it was relatively strong too.

There are really only keepers and rookies the way I read it, Midfield premos are in and locked (except Hodge, will miss games)
And only Bartel/Zerrett/Robinson I can see being traded at some point during the year.

I have to question trades with rookies though, I can easily see patches where you might struggle trying to trade lots of young blokes at once.
Barring injury, you will probably need 0 trades for the first 6 weeks, which is good, but if all those rookies start to peak at once, there could be problems.

It's different, not perfect, but I like it quite a lot.
I thought there would be problems with maybe one starting defender short, but Francis and Ess Brown will play each week now, so you only need one of WCE Brown, Bonner and Adams to have a starting 6 defenders.

Keen to see how this team travels throughout the year, good luck.

Edit: Just noticed, no Mills/Hopper etc? Wouldn't fit the budget?

Love the structure man! :)

So many PODs too

My only concern would be that with only 1 rookie in the mids + 1 midpricer but no GAJ, Fyfe, Pendles, Danger, Beams... you may be limiting your opportunities to fit in as many top 10 players as possible.
