Ok lets have a go

Notes
- Have tried something a little different with a strong midfield and weak defence. Found quite a few rookies I liked in defence. If none look solid closer to round 1 then I'll downgrade a mid and upgrade to a premo defender

LordSneeze

Solid team.

Not sure i like the Greene pick. His average in 2014 was overstated due to a run of games where he averages 33 possesions at the end of the year. He has never proven he can do that for a full year. I think it is more likely an average of 90 than the 100+ you want from a F3

If i was you id downgrade SLoane to a rookie, Upgrade Selwood to Pendles, Greene to Zorko, and a rookie def to a hibberd?

Yeh i'm 50/50 on Greene, but with Treloar leaving he could get more mid time like he did that back end of 2013. That's the reason for the pick anyway but definitely a watch and see

Am tempted to go heavy in the mids myself, but have gone light and it's allowed me to go strong on all other lines

Not sure there will be that many def rookies available, but if there is then I will be following you and going light down there too!

Gigantor

Similar setup to mine, I really want to start a 5 premo + Libba + Crouch midfield but it will come down to the def rookies.

Having a GC R3 means you can never use GAJ as VC, if you want to keep the 102k price and not care about DPP Luke Goetz WB would be your best bet. Doggies have a loop hole friendly draw to start the year

Nice man cheers, just chucked in a basement price rookie in there and hadn't even thought of that yet

fasttrack13

What sort of output do you think wells can achieve?

I agree about treloar going to collingwood allowing greene more midfield time, he will rack up the touches!
As for loopholing Max King is probably the only ruck/fwd who has good enough game times to be useful

love the rucks! really want to get Goldy in my team!

Big Mac

Wow Libba is cheap!

So is Crouch

A fit Wells could easily still produce 85+ imo. Just a matter of him being fit though

Heya Rico

If this squad is viable I think it's great, but I think 5 123k rook defenders is a big ask. As you say, DG a mid and spread the cash - I'd be interested to see what that worked out like...

I also think Bartel is hard to go past at 470k and a defender, I've got McVeigh and Bartel as D1/D2 but Boyd could still be a solid pick - I think with the return of Libba and addition of Suckling I'd be interested to see how he is played and how his scoring is affected - he didn't go too well in 2014 when Libba was pillaging points, their scores seemed to mirror each other...

Greene is another year older and stronger and more opportunity in midfield has potential to breakout and avg 100+
Understand the cheap backline as it is just as likely to perform as anyother choices.   Gives you cash to have the monster Mids and Rucks.
Good looking team Rico

5 defenders at 123k is very unlikely. Would do what you were thinking and dg a mid then ug a defender. Would look much more stable in my opinion.
Would love your thoughts on my team. Cheers

See in my eyes there are quite a few decent rookie options in defence this year

MBrown - should play at Essendon with Carlisle gone now
Wagner - mature ager thats gone to Melb. Will play imo
Tucker is a bit ify but he's a gun kid and can see him slotting in across half back for Freo
Adams is already huge and ready to go
Nathan Broad - mature ager and Richmond need his run and carry out of defence imo
Mitch Brown - will be like Nath Brown this year
Clem Smith - 50/50 - but Blues will get games into some of these kids
Golds - 50/50 - moved to the pies and their backline is far from set
MHibberd - 50/50 - but is a good size and ready to go
Whitecross - 50/50 - Suckling gone now but a bit more expensive at 198k
AFrancis - should play but a bit more expensive
Mullett - 50/50 - but i like him
Andy Otten - unlikely - just had a cleanout of the knee but will be back training at the end of Jan

Plus there is always an Oxley that pops up every season just before round 1

Only need 5 of those

If its not viable yeh i'll upgrade 1 to Bartel and downgrade in the middle but atm i'm trying something a little different

Wow I didn't realise how many there were! Makes me more confident with Mackenzie at D4 and then 4 rookies 8)

Another to consider is Daniel Nielson from North. Was a second round draft pick last year and was going strong until he ruptured his ACL prior to Round 1 last year. One to watch.
