My first VERY rough team make up...

Def: McVeigh (D/M), Bartel (D/M), Smith (D/M), Whitecross (D/F), M.Brown, M.Brown (D/F),             [Bonner, Rice]

Mid: Ablett, Rockliff, Wines, Watson, Liberatore, O’Meara, Crouch, Parish,                                        [Hopper, Freeman, Keays]

Ruck: Goldstein, Martin,                                                                                                              [Currie]

Fwd: Montagna (M/F), Dahlhaus (M/F), Bennell (M/F), Wells (M/F), Kennedy (M/F), Kerridge (M/F),   [Petracca (M/F), Balic (M/F)]

Bank: $94,300

Thoughts on the ground work of hopefully a big season?

GCSkiwi

Immediate thought is that despite tonnes of DPP players you haven't got a single DPP link haha. Maybe revise? I don't think JOM is worth starting so pull him, put a M/F in there.

WhiteX is a serious vest bait risk.

Other than that not necessarily my pick of prems but a nice mix going on.

Gigantor

Not a bad team mate, 12 keepers with a few midprice potential keepers.

I love the rucks, no messing around there!

Not sure if WhiteX is best 22, GCSKiwi, how is he vest bait ????

Have you though about MacKenzie from WC? only 45K more, guaranteed JS

fasttrack13

Not sure about the two W's in the midfiel (wines and watson) i reckons they could turn into L's!

Definitely rather you go Selwood/Sloane/Shiel/Sidebottom (S = Super picks)
other than that its a really good team..

Don't mind me, just living in the past haha. Keep forgetting the sub has been scrapped! Still, yes I think he's on the fringe so having him as D4 is a little worrying.

Update:

Defense: Bartel (D/M), Yeo (D/M), Rosa or Smith (D/M), McKenzie, M.Brown, M.Brown (D/F),             [Byrne, Bonner]

Midfield: Ablett, Selwood, Rockliff, Watson, Liberatore, Crouch, Polec, Myers,                                  [Mills, Hopper, Gresham]

Ruck: Goldstein, Martin,                                                                                                          [King (R/F)]

Forward: Dahlhaus (M/F), Bennell (M/F), Tippett (R/F), Wells (M/F), Kennedy, Petracca,                    [Curnow, Kerridge (M/F)]

Surely Watson can boost his avg back above 105? McKenzie is a bargain. Polec should make $150k+ and avg 90+, Yeo will be a top 10 defender, Tippet will tear it up being their no 1 ruck. Rest pick themselves.

Don't think I have ever had so little actual rookies, but still so much cash generation. only 7/30 haven't played a game.

Lots to like about your team Hoggyz.
Strong Backs,  Polec Watson need reviewing better options available.
Best Ruck combo and Fwds offer good options with Tippett, Wells.
If you need cash Tippet>Luey and upgrade watson to sloan or sidey.

Great team

appreciate your thoughts on my team.

First update for a while. And a lot has changed. Really like the structure and feel that this is the team I'll have come NAB Challenge:

I have a few PODs which I like. 13 Keepers, 2 true midpricers, 15 cashcows.

Wells can become anyone who performs well in NAB Challenge, or if need be- sideways after Rnd 2. No DPP links cos I don't think it is too important until the 2nd half of the season.

And despite them being so late, bye structure is 8/14/7. Premo+mid price bye structure is 4/5/6. So they're both good at this stage with lots of Essendon cashcows.

ubeaut

I like some of your PODS. but I'd consider downgrading Merret and MacKenzie to rookies. And getting McVeigh/Simpson or Shaw in defence dropping Yeo or KK or Macmillan

Westhoff and Rioli I love don't have the balls myself.

Blicavs is my R1.

Hoggyz_a_legend

MacKenzie is an easy 65-80 avg and will make $150k~. Shaw- I just can't justify $600k on a defender. Merrett will be a top 10 fwd this year. Westhoff and Rioli are big risks, but I think both will boost their avg to close to 100. Blicavs will be a top 3 ruck, avging 115~.

creeker

Solid team you have here mate. Great structure and some handy pods.
Don't mind the Hoff sitting there in the forward line, he's been in my thoughts also.

Have a look in FF SC League's mate. (FF Platinum - Class of 2015)
Will be sending out codes tonight if you have a spare league. Would be great to have you on board.

Ringo

Nice team and structure here.  Handy pods and worth sitting on till NAB cup and rd 1. McMillan is an interesting choice though do you see him lifting further to that 95/100 scoring?

Slight concern with Blicavs given that he will not be rucking at the Cats this year and a pure mid only.

Disagree slightly with DPP early as it gives flexibility with trading as well but just my opinion.

Hoggyz_a_legend

Bit of an update to my team.

Def: Laird, Kolodjashnij, Macmillan, Yeo (M/F), Z.Williams, M.Brown (D/F),                                Hartley, K.Collins.

Mid: Ablett, Gray, Shiel, Rockliff, Liberatore, Mills, Hopper, Gresham,                    Menadue (M/F), Petracca (M/F), Mathieson.

Ruck: Martin, Gawn,                                                                                        Cox (R/F).

Fwd: Martin (M/F), Barlow (M/F), Z.Merrett (M/F), Wells (M/F), Kennedy (M/F), Kerridge (M/F),             Milera, Grimley (R/F).

Mid rookies aren't as good as first thought, so have included 2 DPP forwards in there, Def rookies will be ok but won't score highly, and Fwd rookies are coming out of the woodwork left right and centre.

Got a few PODs which aren't moving (Laird, Macmillan, Williams, Gray, Shiel, Gawn, Merrett). And also have ruck/fwd and mid/fwd DPP connections if required.

My last choice is Macmillan/Grimley or Westhoff/M.Brown WCE.

Thoughts?

Def - for me know of your preimem backs are proven stars KK, Mac and Yeo could score 80's all season.

Mids - are you sure you want to risk not having fyfe or pendels in your side, both proven scorers over the last 4+ years. Mid rookies are great. Parish is another one you could consider.

Rucks - A OK looks good

Fwds - I like Montagna as a POD but he is expensive you could consider him, other wise pretty stock standard. If you going to get Wells i would try upgrade Merrett to Deliedo or Monty.

Overall backs need a touch up, maybe someone like Simpson? Houli? just to provide stability, mids are okay but just watch how the premiems are going in NAB, all have shown they are ready for round 1. and FWDs maybe try upgrade Merrett as Wells is still a big risk, played 7 games in 2 years.

Ringo

Do you have the cash to go Merrett to Westhoff? Port have a great early draw and Westhoff may get you off to a flyer.

Team has some nice PODs with sound structure.  Like most we are waiting to see which rookies surface.
