Pendles to Shiell imo.  although not 100% sold on Shiel over other porems around same price.

Heater to Rance would be my second option.

I'm personally worried about the big spend in defence. Any midpricers take your fancy? Sheridan looks like value with d5/d6 keeper potential. Feel like you can take that risk having Shaw. Otherwise shaw to houli is also one i'm tossing up.
Pendles to parker/wines/shiel is valid.
Wouldnt touch dusty. Or not to find money atleast. You're thin enough up forward.

I'm going to suggest Crouch to Mills. Though then we may as well put in one team ;)

Fid

Great side RD...

May I suggest to hold off on Petracca, Melbourne don't play a Sunday game until R3, so no point in loopholing him. (if that's what you're thinking.

Save getting him for possible minor changes or rookies getting dropped come R3

Broad to Ruggles will get you the cash. Ruggles should line up round 1 and play the Thurlow role. The other one might be Petracca to Marcon if he is named round 1 as well. I know the DPP is handy, but Marcon is a pretty good player and should get games.

RaisyDaisy

Haha Dave, can't be the same so Crouch stays :)

Heya Fid, thanks for the tip about Petracca not playing a Sunday game until rd3. Hopefully Marcon gets a run then

As for Ruggles Mat, Broad to Ruggles only nets me 15k which wouln't be enough. Marcon would help though

Will just have to sit tight and wait to see which rookies get named I guess

I know you won't like it but Nic Nat to Gawn will give you an extra 10k. I'm very close to locking in Gawn myself.

If you're going to look at downgrading Dusty, get on Robbo. Beams is now out indefinitely, Robbo has tonned up in both NAB games (yes I know it's just NAB) and also averaged 123 in his last 5 and 111 in his last 10 when playing in the midfield. I don't think you're going to lose a hell of a lot in a hell of points and I think it's possible Dusty starts slow while they try and adjust to the new cap.

RaisyDaisy, as it stands my side is very similar to yours... with one exception.

I've downgraded Libba to Oliver. The reason being, I've lost complete confidence in the -130K Rookies. I now have a legitimate Guns-n'-Rookies set-up with not one player between 250K - 450K. In your team, that extra cash could turn Adams into Weitering, or McCarthy into Simpkins. Not sexy moves, but I feel a premium price needs to be paid for cash generation this season. It'll be gut-wrenching if your on-field players are being let-down by your cash-generators mid- to late- season.

Please rate my team:

Bully, no doubt Gawn is looking very enticing and I won't rule out that move

Mat, I like that idea. Can't ignore Robbo's form and Beams out only helps him

At this stage I'd be leaning towards bringing in Robbo but most likely Shiel. I had Shiel last year, and with Treloar gone I honestly think he can go into the elite 115+ category. Would give me a nice pod in what is mostly a cookie cutter team too

Sonny, no chance I'm dropping Libba. Definitely not interested in simpkin either

Alright, so it doesn't look like Mathieson is a good chance to line up rd1 after being injured today and there are no other cheap mid rookies that look likely to play, so I'm moving Menadue from the forward line to the mids

I'm not interested in Kommer or any of the other cheap forward rookies I don't already have so Milera gets the gig. Based on what he has shown, 60+ most weeks seems likely and he is the best available rookie left I can afford. Would have liked to bring in EMack to sure up things down back, but am not prepared to downgrade Heater to secure the funds required

Mitch Brown isn't looking like he will be a great scorer, but with Broad, Adams and Tippa as alternative starting options it should be fine

Mathieson OUT
Milera IN

DEF: Shaw, Laird, Bartel, Dea, Brown, Hartley (Broad, Adams)

MID: Fyfe, Danger, Pendles, Ablett, Rocky, Libba, Crouch, Gresham (Menadue, Petracca, Davis)

RUC: Goldy, NicNat (Grimley)

FWD: Martin, Barlow, Wells, Bennedy, Milera, Kerridge (McCarthy, McDonald-Tippa)

$14,100 remaining

Teams are relatively similar. Only m8(mills) f3(buddy) d3(midpricer- currently Harwood) really differs the structure.

My biggest struggle I am having at the present is Whether to have that guaranteed loophole option or not. I would be fuming if I'm stuck with my captain after my vc goes 200 one round. I know what u saying maybe one of the rookies doesn't play early on - but then we miss on the cash generation.

This is also my last big decision, do I pick McCarthy or do I pick Petracca if he's not named. I'm at a loss really, if Petracca misses 3 matches it's hardly worth it, particularly given Melbourne play early in those rounds. On the other hand a guy like McCarthy would only be on around 220k based on a 60 average. Debatable whether that's worth a trade. We really need a poll to work this one out.

RaisyDaisy

The thing with Petracca is that yes he won't make money initially, but we usually have an r3 not making money so now with Grimley in that spot I think that Petracca at M11 is fine

Also, with the lack of mid rookies available his DPP is extremely handy allowing me to swing in a fwd if need be

Really starting to look like I might need to drop Pendles. Marcon didn't get promoted, Gresham we're not 100% on just yet. Could be forced to select Mills and possibly even another costly rook

Yeah I get your idea with petracca and comments regarding grimley.

But when petracca does return ... Bye bye loophole. Just feel so uneasy not having perma loophole

RaisyDaisy

With the majority of likely rd1 rookies having somewhat dodgy JS I reckon someone will get dropped eventually so having a loophole option should present itself

I know haha I just don't want to take that risk
