This is obviously going to change a million times over the next couple of months, but I logged into SC Gold for the first time this morning and slapped this together in 5 minutes

DEF: McVeigh, Simpson, Bartel, Birchall, B.Smith, Brown (Hibberd, Bonner)

MID: Ablett, Sloane, Rockliff, Libba, Crouch, Mills, Trengove, Gresham (Keays, Freeman, Marcon)

RUC: Goldstein, NicNat (Loersch)

FWD: Deledio, Martin, Barlow, Luenberger, Wells, Petracca (Kerridge, Kommer)

Will be fun to see how my starting line up in rd 1 looks compared to this :)

Gigantor

I really want to go weaker in the mids and stronger if def like you but I can't bring myself to do it :)

It's kinda funny, because the mids actually aren't weak at all with 5 guns lol, but I know what you mean

I'm liking this structure for now because all other lines are very strong and I'll actually downgrade Francis to Brown which gives me 100k to upgrade a mid rookie to Mills, Hopper etc

3 Guns, a gun coming back from injury with a rocket up his ass and Crouch who is not yet a proven gun.

Cannot say i am a fan of starting Crouch and spending all that cash in defense.

Personally i'd go with a Emac/Mullett type or another rookie as D5 and upgrade Crouch or an other mid rookie to make Crouch M6.

Always is haha.

Calling it now: Birch, Trengove and Dustbin wont make the starting side ;)

I would be leaning on the DP of Aish down back instead of Brown for $275,700

i believe it would be
Essendon Brown 117k or WCE Brown at 133k

Money Shot

This is a unique structure and I really like it. You may have a back 6 that might not need to be touched at all depending on how brown goes. Still have 4 super premos in the mid with Crouch that could be a super premium come seasons end and then two gun rucks and a solid forward line.
Well done mate.
Would love your thoughts on my team.

Yeah it's Essendon's Mitch Brown, but essentially I am only relying on 3 rookies down back which I prefer for now

Crouch at 300k has to be started provided he lines up rd1. I know I could downgrade Simmo, Birch or Smith to a rookie or cheaper option and then bring in another gun mid, but the mid rookies are where the best money makers will be so like this year I like to start with 5 established players, and then leave 6 spots free for rookies

Of course my structure can change depending on what rookies are actually playing rd 1, but for now I'm liking this side because my backline and rucks are more or less done already, and with Wells and Petracca up forward it will be very easy to finish that line too

Crouch was 500k this year and plenty of people were going to start him before he got injured. He is now 40% cheaper and still has the same potential he did last year. As long as he is fit and lines up rd 1, he is locked. Such a little risk at that price

I honestly think my ruck and forward structure wont change at all. It's just going to be between D5 and M6 as to which way I go, but again it cant be decided until rookies are named rd1

And yes Kiwi - very strong chance those exact 3 don't make it!  ;D

Trengove reported to be training strongly so could be a nice early rookie priced pick for you.,

Made a slight change for now bringing in Myers. Crazy to think that I only have 4 rookies on the field

Great team, Love the set and forget rucks!
Only players im iffy on is Brown and Myers. Brown, although will play a lot, doesnt really score well.. Id rather have a rookie play 7 or 8 games than have brown.

A lot of people have Sloane! I cant bring myself to pick him because he will surely cop a lot of attention without danger there

Brown is Mitch W Brown from Essendon, so essentially it's just starting a rookie at D6

I'm not 100% sold on Myers, but if he is fit he will score 80+ most games and has far superior JS to any other rookie. I never start 200k+ rookies, but someone with his JS and ability is worth it if he is fit

Sloane can easily be replaced by Jelwood, so I'll go with either one of them for that spot

Thanks for your comments mate :)

Think it's the way to go RD. There's heaps of great mid pricers around.

Yeah I've always been a Guns N Rookie setup coach, but I think this is the first year that I actually think the mid pricers available are good enough and have enough upside to select and adapt this sort of structure

I'll be keeping an eye on him for sure, because 156k is super cheap but it's just his JS that I would be paying for because he will only average around the 75 mark anyway which most rookies in this position can generally do. If he is finally actually fit to play then it's pretty hard to not pick him
