picked up a nice win today, but it was the performance of a certain individual that caught my attention.

Ted van Boxtel (rm) 8-1-21-0
My 16yo New Ball Bowler bowled a maiden to start his career, and that is just the sort of thing I am after. Losing Chamal Dorenagama from youths this season who bowled so superbly last season has really hurt my side, so much that I had to go out and buy another NBB medium. Someone is getting a game for the YOD XI this Wednesday 8)

Good win Pb and chased down in 30.3 overs :o :-[

Hope van Boxtel keeps performing for ya. He certainly helped strangle my top order.

You never copped Chamal Dorenagama. Last season in YOD it was the most dominate performance I had ever seen. He had a season economy rate of 2.86 in Div 1 YOD (To put that into perspective the 2nd best economy rate in the league for guys that bowled more than twice was 3.62). 15 maidens was the most in the league, 11 was 2nd most (also my player), 3rd most had 8. His most expensive figures for the season was 1/33, that's still just over 4rpo on his worst day of the season. On 6 occasions he went for 20 runs or less, it was just mindblowing how no team could get him away.

That was strangling a top order. van Boxtel has a long way to go before he gets to that level, I reckon he can go close though.

Bowled less maidens, played less matches ;) Without seeing skills he's also probably one of the biggest bowlers to have come through at u19 level :P Would've been disappointed if he didn't go as well as he did.

Just out of curiousity, does he trigger wicket a lot?
