I would say the first one

That example is not really valid. Nobody is doing Goldy Oliver vs Martin Crouch. Can't use Crouch in this

Goldy buddy vs Martin Martin is more like it

Goldy Hurn vs Martin Rance

Etc

Even in those cases it's not as clear cut because it's 30 players you can shuffle, not a simple 2 for 2 exercise

Agree with this you have to do a viable comparison like Goldy ,Sinclair vs Nicnat , Gawn

Tbh if you're considering starting Sinclair, I don't think starting or not starting Goldy is gonna make that much of a difference

Here is where is price becomes an issue

With Goldstein:
Goldstein, Broad, McCarthy

Without Goldstein:
Gawn, Weitering, Lyons

Might lose 10 Points in the ruck but would definitely make that up with a breakout contender and what should be a 70+ average defender

It is Goldstein and not Silverstein, Bronzestein, Einstein, Beerstein for a reason.

Go for Gold.

Captain material means a lot and often means the difference in close league matches, especially now when so many teams are so similar.
