Goldstein - To start or to not start, that is the question

Even if he drops 10 ppg and you pay overs for him, he's still going to score a ton of points for you, is a good vc option and will be the best ruck at the end of thr season. If you know a player will be the top scorer on a particular line, is there any reason not to pick him? Doesn't that make them a must?

This is why I'm trying to get Shaw in my side. Have to change my structure, but leaving out players who can potentially net you 10ppg more than the nearest others on that line is fraught with danger. (No pun intended)

That is why at this stage he is not locked. If I don't start Goldy it will be Nic Nat and I would be able to make my D4 into a premo. It comes back to the rookie situation before anything is locked in though.

That is why at this stage he is not locked. If I don't start Goldy it will be Nic Nat and I would be able to make my D4 into a premo. It comes back to the rookie situation before anything is locked in though.

From 2010 - 2014 Sani, Cox, NicNat, Minson, Jacobs were the number one rucks in the comp only to relinquish that title the next year. In 2015 it was Goldy.

And also 23 players have averaged over 120 in Supercoach history. Only 4 have gone on to back up with an above 120 average the next year. All were mids in Ablett, Swan, Pendles and Fyfe.

In saying these facts is Goldy worth the near 700k?

Yeh both points have been discussed/mentioned quite a few times in the off season. My gut says he will fall becuase its so hard to back up an elite year,  but everything else points to him having another great year

Goldie outscored NN by 600+ points last year. Unless Goldie and NNs score the same or Goldie pulls a Rocky 2015 .... 130k is not gonna cut it.

Who are you upgrading for 130k to make up for that ... ? Libba, Mills, Wells, Weit, Dea, Crouch?

is 130k worth 7 or soo points probably not. But the risk is that 7 points could be 15 and thats a major difference. There has to be some question marks on Martin being a big ball winner in a team with lots of ball winners. Gawn just isnt proven.

take away the shoulder injury and Hmac influence and the man has averaged 113+ for 5 straight years. Add to that north is as strong as ever and a fit Swallow and Wells gives even more oppurtunites for HTA.

went sub 90 once last year. and sub 100 3 times.

also went 123 in the finals which is a good effort.

works hard with 4 tackles a game and averaged 128 off just 15 touches and less then half a goal a game. So he isnt reliant on touches or goals like some other rucks.

If you start with 2 ruck premos, one of them has to be Goldy.

You just can't leave him out for the entire year.

That being said, I've been toying with the idea of starting Tippet in the ruck and floating him down forward later in the season to be able to bring Goldy in.
