Where are you guys making these teams?

I like it, iffy with a couple of players for me. But, at this time of the year not bad.

Cheers Barra, bit uncertain on KK but quite content with the rest..

On the fanfooty home page, log in at the top then the Fanpanner option is under the Tools tab

Killing time before SW tonight, pretty happy with this squad at this stage
5/5/6 bye structure for those that are more likely to remain come the bye rounds

I like! Midfield is strong when other lines aren't heavily affected. Nice one ADEZ!

Nice Team there - Just wondering whether with Chol having DPP it is worth seeing if you can get a R/F into this team.

The_Captain

Looks good ADEZ. gione all the basement rookies but, just gotta hope they all get games at that price, or may need to down grade one of those premos in mids to get playing rooks.

ADEZ

Cheers guys just trying to nail down a solid structure and squeeze in a few POD's and will work with what rookies eventually come our way.

The plan it to upgrade a FWD rookie to Goldstein as soon as it becomes doable (hence swinging Berger forward opening the DPP link). Slight risk as one of Martin/Leuenberger could get a niggle over the first 7 or 8 weeks but willing to risk it at this stage. I don't like having Berger at F4, feels like there is better value/price generating opportunities to have in that position.

Yeah I wouldn't seriously be worrying about the rookies yet.

That is a clever plan tbh, but as you have mentioned, if the premo does get injured you're screwed. Atm I have the Goldy/Martin combo with Leuey in the forward line and like you I don't like Leuy in the forward line because of other value, but I feel it's the safer option despite the huge amount of money spent.

Cheers for the feedback, have slightly improved my standings if a ruck goes down but still risky. Have continued to tinker with it, have 15 k remaining.

DEF: it's early but slightly worried that 4 rooks won't be available. McVeigh/Bartel pick themselves if fit. Hoping for a return to form for Smith and Hibberd (already stated his disappointment of last year) - Hibberd is contending with Yeo/Kolo. Duryea I'm keen on, rate him very highly as a player and with another year in the system with Suckling gone could take another step on the back of a terrific finals series, scored well once sub games are removed.

MID: Four premiums that should finish top 10. JPK to be my POD, has been in my team for the last two years for returns of 110 (unsubbed) and 107.5 , plus it's nice having players you enjoy watching in your team. Libba/Crouch for value. Typical rookies. Pretty standard.

RUCK:
Martin locked. Sticking with the earlier plan but have slotted in Tippett instead of Leuenberger. He averaged high 90's over his final 10 unsubbed games, should handle the majority of the ruck load (at least 50/50) and will hopefully get off to a flyer with an easy early draw. A significant pro of his over Leu is that even though they have similar durability issues, if he is to break down in the first few rounds then he will only cost 50-150k to upgrade whereas a ~350k Leuenberger would be pretty disastrous but if Tippett can make it through the first couple months I'll be laughing as I swap him into the forwards.
The reason I have't gone with a true R2 is primarily because I don't want to settle for a Jacobs/Blicavs if Goldy continues on his merry way but I'm not 100% convinced he can do so.

FWD: Pretty standard.

5/6/5 bye layout for those that are likely to remain.

I'd be a little worried with Tippett as Nankervis was getting a bit of game time last year and now they also have the arrival of Sinclair to contend with.

Yeah it crossed my mind but I'm doubtful they will play Tippett, Buddy, Sinclair, Reid and Nankervis in the same team. Neither Tippett nor Sinclair are true number ones rucks but I'd say Tippett is closer.
Regardless, if some more defence rookies pop up or one of the midpricers look likely then it will Hibberd down and Tippett -> Goldy most likely. I prefer to expect the worst at this stage.

Capper

Tippett and Sinclair will share the ruck and FF duties. Nankervis/NAismith will play if either misses.

McVeigh just off crutches as well so watch his progress

Football Factory

Yeah good team, im going cheap in my forward line this year, lots of bargains imo.

I have Bird and Leuey in there at the moment.

#14
DEF:   J. McVeigh, J. Bartel, T. Duryea, B. Smith, N. Malceski, M. Brown (M. Adams, J. Wagner)

MID:   S. Pendlebury, T. Mitchell, T. Rockliff, G. Ablett, T. Liberatore, B. Crouch, J. Trengove, J. Gresham (B. Fiorini, L. Sumner, N. Freeman)

RUC:   S. Martin, K. Tippett (M. Chol)

FWD:  D. Martin, L. Dahlhaus, M. Barlow, D. Thomas, S. Kerridge, D. Wells (C. Petracca, P.Ahern)

30 k remaining. Changes highlighted.

With Martin looking likely had to work him in for Lids. The three options were Pendles -> Sidey, JPK/Titch -> JS/Parker or Hibberd->Malceski/Williams.

Decided to go with Malceski for now, don't like having all of Bartel, McVeigh and Mal at their age but is the best option IMO. Mal has always been a cream on the top type, requires quality around for him to strive. He, like many other Suns had injury issues, considering 7 of the Sun's most imprtant players in May (17) Bennell (15 - yes gone now but still to consider), Thompson (9), Prestia (8 ), Swallow (6), Ablett (6) and JOM (0) featured irregularly. Considering GAJ in particular; he and the others all player r.1 and 2 and Mal scored 80 and 66, during Ablett's next 4 games - which aligned with Swallow, May and Thompson also returning - Mal scored 72, 90, 93 and 83. I reckon he can bump it back to 80+ with some quailty around him.

The JPK/Titch battle has been ongoing but am going with my brain for now, Mitchell's role won't change, career average of 100+ with out sub games and went at 115 this year unsubbed. Tough to leave out JPK after starting with him for the last 2.

Thomas in for Bennedy has little reason, just think he's more capable a scorer at this stage.
