Slight problem. I have no way of telling what the Heat players scored in our Round 3 as even the player profiles haven't got their scores split into the two games they played in that round... Says Lynn scored 216 runs against Hobart :P

Other than that I should be able to get Round 3 results up very soon.

CricketFan should have the scores.
Numbers are wrong there, must be using last seasons scoring system. I added them manually it wasn't too difficult in the end :)

Results only moments away now....

Round 3 Results

Group 1

Travis Head is the man! He charges QLD home on the final day of Round 3 with that incredible knock. The ACT players didn't go too badly but no standout performers allowed the Koalas to get hom.

The Possums are also showing their dominance here, a crushing victory over NSW puts them also in the box seat to get out of their group.

Group 2

It's been a tournament to forget for the Swans, and this is no different. Lack of players being the obvious worry. The Wombats under new management have got a chance to progress out of the group, captain Shaun Marsh is the key though, as he showed with a very good 184 last round.

It was always going to be difficult for the Devils, but they really showed no fight against NT who are really the form team of the comp. 601 is a great score off only 4 games in the round, they have secured their spot in the finals. TAS can join them by winning against the Cockatoos, or hoping the Wombats don't win against the Koalas.

Ladders

Round 4 [1st January]
South Australia vs Queensland
Northern Territory vs New South Wales
Victoria vs Western Australia
ACT vs Tasmania

So this is the round where teams play a team from the other group. Every game has importance to at least one of the teams, and remember finishing 3rd is better than finishing 4th. The 3rd placed teams play off for 5th place in Round 6, and the 4th placed teams playoff for 7th place in Round 6, there's no 'minor finals' as such like is happening in the top half of the ladder.

Luke Wright on the bench.  :'( Had to flip a coin with him and Stoinis, I even said before the game to my mates (I was one of the 80000 last night!) that Wright was due. Oh well.

Even I make mistakes. Didn't name Cameron White :-[

Round 4 Progress
We are halfway through Round 4, so here is where we sit.

Game 1
NT Kangaroos - 354
Gayle, Finch, Wade, Bravo, Kallis (c), Behrendorff

NSW Platypuses - 40
Lynn, Jayawardene, Hodge, Hussey (c), Agar, Watson (x0.75)

Even if NSW got in on time, I think the Kangaroos had them covered. Another huge score for the tournament favourites brewing.

Game 2
V Possums - 263
Klinger (c), Christian, Rashid, Sammy, Sandhu

WA Swans - 40
Blizzard, Dunk, Ludeman, Muirhead

Non event here, missing out on Wright's score won't hurt the Possums in terms of making it through to the next stage, it might hurt regarding whether they finish 1st or 2nd.

Game 3
ACT Cockatoos - 347
Harris, Ross, Paine (c), Willey, Rimmington, Doherty, Tye, Tait

T Devils - 50
Cooper (x0.75), Floros, Cutting, Laughlin, Richardson

The Cockatoos won't have a problem winning this game. Every member of their side plays twice this round. Impressive.

Game 4
SA Wombats - 375
S.Marsh (c), Bailey, Beaton, Hartley, White (x0.5)

QLD Koalas - 255
Head, Carberry, Sangakkara (c), Hogg, Boyce, Paris

Well safe to say this is the match of the round, and has the most implications on finishing positions. The Wombats have the points on the board, the Koalas have the extra personnel still to come. But here is what could happen depending on the result of this match:

If SA win:
They jump into 2nd in Group 2, overtaking T Devils on %. V Possums top Group 1 and it will be a very very very tight race between the Koalas and the Cockatoos for 2nd place, I reckon it will be within 3% either way.

If Q win:
QLD and VIC have a % race for 1st and 2nd, favouring the Possums as they will get a huge booster this round. The Cockatoos will miss out. In Group 2 T Devils will hold onto 2nd place and make the semis, SA will finish 3rd.

In either result NSW will finish last in Group 1, WA will finish last in Group 2. Unless of course somehow one of the other 3 matches there's a remarkable recovery.

NT Kangaroos - 561 (1)
NSW Platypuses - 353 (2.75)
If Hodge and Jayawardene both score tons then there's a game here, otherwise nope.

V Possums - 346 (1)
WA Swans - 103 (1)
Can Ludeman outscore Klinger by 244? If he does then Strikers fans would be going nuts.

ACT Cockatoos - 439 (4)
T Devils - 102 (2)
Despite Rimmington not showing up twice the Cockatoos have this one.

SA Wombats - 403 (2)
Q Koalas - 321 (4)
This is still up in the air. To come for the Koalas: Head, Hogg, Paris, Carberry (Reardon's 20 if Carberry misses). Meanwhile the Wombats are relying solely on captain Shaun Marsh to do enough to hold them off. Only got 28 points from White (x0.5), Beaton, Bailey and Hartley, not great. But Sangakkara the Koalas captain only got 3 today. Anyone want to make a prediction on who wins this one?

So I cbf doing the other games right now, but the important one:

SA Wombats: 411
Q Koalas: 489

So the semi finals:

NT Kangaroos (42) vs Q Koalas (44)
V Possums (38) vs T Devils (12)
Brackets shows the HGA. The first named teams will have the HGA applied to them for Round 5.

Final ladder standings after including scores from all 4 games this round.

ACT will host SA for 5th in Round 6. NSW host WA for 7th in Round 6.

Ugh, 4th in total points for the comp and finish last in my division haha (with the chance to come dead last). Really struggled with the rapid deadlines for this comp too, naming teams on time would have helped.

Just a question, why doesn't the bottom placings run over 2 weeks to give all the teams a chance at all the minor placings too?

I just thought of doing it that way :P It's how we did it in the OD Cup as well. Obviously can be changed for next season though.

As for the deadlines it's definitely going to be a plan to try and avoid a round starting on New Years Day again.

Despite only having one game, Maxwell as Captain for the Kangaroos appears vindicated by that performance :) 96 points before doubling
