At his best he is one of the best forwards in the game in real life and in fantasy and he says he is back to feeling good and healthy! Does this mean he is underpriced and a top 6 forward or is he still to big a risk?

Wondering what everyone's thoughts were!

Holz

at the moment I have 2-3 guys fighting for that F4 spot with him one of them.

If guys like Martin lose dpp he will be in easy.

just soo much upside. was averaging 98 before the hamstring and off field stuff.

I can't help thinking that he is too much of a risk and I think I'd rather save the trade. I'm no doctor but
problems such as those he's experiencing so often seem to be ongoing.

quinny88

Can already see this is going to be my hardest call to make before round 1.
At the moment I've got him in because he will be cheap and I figure even if he's not himself surely he produces better than an 87 average with no injuries, and if he does get back to near his best we know he will go 100+

Buddy has had years of playing 17-19 games since 2010...except 2012 where he only played 14.
Now that his mental health is an on going concern I'm not prepared to risk him. Previously one only needed to worry about his elbows and such but there's too much doubt over him now for me.
Would much prefer him to be likely to play 20+ but what are the odds?

Agreed he's a given to miss a few games. But these days, most do anyway

Yeah if he's looking fit and ready to go come round 1, gonna be hard for me not to start him. If Dusty isn't playing round 1, Buddy is 100% in. Also depends on whether I go cheaper at F4 with a guy like Leuey or not. Will be one of the hardest positions for me to pick I reckon.

Hard not to at least consider him at this price. Could quite easily be the cheapest he is all year and still has one of the best team of mids feeding him the footy. Are players like dusty/dahl really worth the extra coin?

I think Dusty is, Dahl maybe not. Although they will both be keepers end of year anyway, so much of a muchness

Gigantor

It's the missing 3-4 games a year that is giving me doubts

If he misses a few games in the first half of the year you will be playing a fairly weak rookie which will hurt

If I was confident he was going to play 18 games @105 I would lock him in but if that average slips to 95 it starts to hurt.

Agree. However surely with the extended break he has had, at least physically he should be in the best shape possible for a good run early on? If he averages 100 and misses 1-2 pre buys, you'd probably still be in front selecting him, no?
