Because they did not have the gonads to look at other options. ;) ;). maybe they hoping for a Lyon like performance by recalling him.

Fawad Ahmed is really really stiff to miss out. All coz he didn't do that great in the BBL so far I bet ::)

Actually, I can see why they've replaced Siddle with SOK. Both move the ball similar amounts and are the same pace...

At least the lwer order Brathwaite puts some effort in with bat and ball. the top order Brathwaite also played well today. They were really shower in Hobart, Melbourne I thought they were okay but couldn't bowl, Day 1 in Sydney it's okay, you can't expect them to win but at least they are giving themselves a chance by batting first :)

In the 17 tests this century (2000 - 2015) 7 of the teams that batted first have scored under 300. 6 of them lost. The only one to win was incredibly the lowest total of the lot, when Australia made 127 against Pakistan. But when you look at the Pakistani team that played that game unfortunately you are reminded of match/spot fixing so its credibility ha to be questioned.

For the 10 tests where the first innings had more than 300 scored, it's 5 wins, 2 draws 3 losses.
