Brayshaw was good last year, got to 411k before his bye
But took 11 rounds to make 150k. Some basement rookies do that in 6 rounds

Was going at a 65ave for the first 8 rounds too

I don't think he was that good to be honest

Compared to guys like Vandenburg, Miller, CEY, Oxley and Saad he wasn't that good but for a 200k first year rookie post GWS/GC there hasn't been many better
Yep exactly man, which is why it's best to stay away imo
What cheap starting midfield rookies have actually been decent this year though? Davis has been an extremely slow burn, then there's, umm, Hewett?
Yeh they werent as obvious as normal, but
Petracca, Wagner, DBJ, Byrne, Davis, Josh Smith, Hartley, Ruggles, Brown, Cox, Hewett. Plus maybe 1 or 2 more

Oh I missed that word.

tbh one of the best mid rookies who is playing right now but barely anyone has is Connor Blakely. Started at $159k averages 73.8 but last 5 of 90.8 is now $368k. Owned by 1.9% of teams as well because there were other options (Petracca?) on the bubble at the same time and he started with 3 low scores.

picked up hopper at the same time he was 220k :( the extra 30k would have netted me an extra 200pointsish

Nothing compares to Michael barlow. From rookie priced to keeper  ;D

He was a mature ager.

I think you just proved my point :P

This year we kinda had to start guys like Mills as there were literally no other options.

I was uber keen on Blakely too however from memory I missed out on him that week by $2k.
I still maintain that picking up Hopper was the right move. He played some tough opponents and still averaged around the 65 ppg mark. Then came out and scored a 77 v essendon in a game where the Giants simply didn't care, then gets dropped in a game where he would be playing Carlton in what could be a points scoring frenzy for the Giants! It's a shame he was dropped because i had to trade, but I can easily see him averaging around 80 in the back half of the year

Don't think Hopper will play again this year to be honest unless GWS get hit by injuries.

He should play for sure - just being managed

I'll grab Phillips next week, but I'm contemplating giving Matho a miss and bringing in a cheap non playing fwd/mid revolving donut.

I can still  field 18 this week and Matho is out next week anyway.

Donut can sit at M11 and gives me an extra 15.5k plus more flexibility.
