Yeah i might trade out Dunkley for Mathieson, i would think Dunks will more then likely be dropped anyway after the bye with the return of Bulldog player's, i also was going to grab Reid instead however he was omitted.

I'm fielding Menadue "The spud" this week in the hope he can at least achieve his BE or not leak to much cash, then if Phillips hold's his spot & is named next week then i will make the trade.

I have decided to do the exact same thing. Cmon Menadue, redeem yourself with an eighty!

Joke of the day?? Look out T Dog!

This is worth discussing though. How many expensive draftees actually make decent coin? Heeney and Brayshaw weren't exactly great in the 1st half of their years

I was very public about not wanting to start Mills or Weits for this very reason, but I did end up having to start Mills

He was the first and only 200k+ rookie I'll start. They're poor money makers, but if there is no other choice then that's the only time I'll ever consider again

Yeh I'm also big against it, especially starting them

There's a good one, although it wasn't his first year. Any others?

RaisyDaisy

Cripps and Tyson were the only two for me, but they weren't first year rookies at the time

And if you go back any further you'll hit the early GWS boys like Conigs/Shiel/Greene etc

Yeah, Bont was a decent pick as well, but didn't debut until a bit later in the season

Gigantor

Brayshaw was good last year, got to 411k before his bye

But took 11 rounds to make 150k. Some basement rookies do that in 6 rounds

Was going at a 65ave for the first 8 rounds too

I don't think he was that good to be honest

Compared to guys like Vandenburg, Miller, CEY, Oxley and Saad he wasn't that good but for a 200k first year rookie post GWS/GC there hasn't been many better

The_Captain

Nothing compares to Michael barlow. From rookie priced to keeper  ;D

Yep exactly man, which is why it's best to stay away imo

What cheap starting midfield rookies have actually been decent this year though? Davis has been an extremely slow burn, then there's, umm, Hewett?
